I've been thinking on doing a breeding project with quarters or appys. I'm still on the fence about it, but I don't know how to do one. Anything useful will be appreciated! ♥

If you’re aiming for starting a foundation herd, I’d take a few weeks to go to the EC and get some that are 0y. Depending on what you’re looking for (conformation, NSS, color) I’d send the remainder of the horses to the Rescue Center each week until you build a herd of 8, 16, 32, or 64, etc etc. Unless you keep 2 foals from each pairing for following generations, you’ll have to keep buying new horses each generation, add in existing horses from other players, or breed until there are only two horses left, whichever you prefer :) (This only works if you have a large enough herd to avoid inbreeding)

@Saditome - OK thank you! I think I'll be breeding for stats or color.

I'd also recommend taking conformation into account as well as color. I've snagged a many pretty colorful ponies from the RC because of poor confo.

The most important thing to me is breeding down NSS. I have more luxury in being able to buy credits and slapping whatever color/markings I want on my horses so I focus on NSS first and color second. I still consider stats more important so in times where I want to go for color I do my best to match a good genetic combo with still good nss combos to get the best of both. I usually pair my horses with the highest and lowest nss in each area to even it out and come out a little lower. With equiverse putting a huge focus on showing and nss I really stay as far away from horses with over 65 nss as much as possible, as do many others.

@Wey - What exactly is NSS? I've never done anything like this, so I don't know lol

non specialty stats! so the stat categories that dont pertain to whatever discipline your horse is. ie, a dressage horses' nss would be strength, speed, and endurance. you want those to be as low as possible vs the stats a dressage horse would actually use - intelligence and agility. show horses do best when their nss are low.
