New Character + Seeking Character Ideas!

#251270 Posted on 2022-01-10 21:49:00

So I have a very intense class for interim, and I felt like procrastinating my never-ending scientific-article reading assignments (as one does) by creating a new character!

500x500
Her name is Camilla And she is a pangare palomino tobiano mare!

I’m running low on ideas for new characters, I’d love to hear your ideas!
Whether that be whole phenotypes, marking suggestions, coat color suggestions, semi-natural designs, or mood-board schemes I’d love to hear it!

Perhaps maybe a black tobiano with some colored highlights perhaps

She is absolutely gorgeous! Although I don't think palominos can have the pangare gene.

ooo good idea!

I would think so, I think they are just on bay/chestnut bases (so any color that also has that base), here is a horse I found here that has "mealy" Palomino https://www.equiverse.com/horse.php?id=1240095

It gets complicated with that when it comes to palominos, so I'm not 100% sure.

Hmmm I wonder where we could find out about this? I only said she was pangare because I added a good amount of countershading… I tried googling it but I couldn’t find anything about cream genes and pangare expression… Eh in the name of fantasy I’ll just pretend it exists on bay and chestnut bases despite any dilutions :’)

haha yeah. I tried to look it up too, but nothing popped up. I tried looking at pictures, but it only shows palomino horses or pangare horses. Not only that but it shows some people who made a palomino pangare, although I don't see a picture of a actual palomino pangare.

I see light looking horses that appear to be palomino, but they could easily be a light flaxen chestnut

Gorgeous charrie! My best guess would be a sooty palomino tobiano rather than pangare but I could be wrong.

Color recommendations; double cremes or greying black, solid blanket Appaloosas, and roans with grease spot

Hmm no yeah that is a good suggestion as well! But I wonder how much countershading is allowed naturally without modifiers like sooty or pangare?

I like those ideas! Thank you :)
