[QUESTION] More of your breed?

#25027 Posted on 2016-03-30 16:01:27

So, I've been thinking about creating a few horse of each (maybe) breed, specialized in whatever the main specialization everyone is doing. I'll probably do maybe 5 stallions, 5 mares and then when they're getting up in age I'll breed them once or twice for myself, and leave them open to being studs/broodmares for those who can't find any good ones around. Just kinda beefing up the marketplace, I guess.

If you all could be the lovely people I know you are, and fill out the form, I'd be grateful. c:

Form:

Breeds: Breed (Specialization), Breed (Specialization)
Colors Sought: Any gene that you like in the breeds
Do you have difficulty finding studs well statted for their age/lineage?
Do you have anything against store horses for breeding?
Do you have difficulty breeding your studs (no mares/broodmares)?
Do you think there needs to be more horses in your breed?

Form:

Breeds:Paints and Gypsies..western paints, driving gypsies
Colors Sought: I love the cream dilutes on this game. I especially like Moreno on the gypsies
Do you have difficulty finding studs well statted for their age/lineage? Kind of, but it's more of the affordable thing. :| good studs are really highly priced and if for some reason I don't like the foal, it's a money sink
Do you have anything against store horses for breeding? Absolutely not. Every line starts somewhere, and well, it helps keep inbreeding in check by adding to the gene pool.0
Do you have difficulty breeding your studs (no mares/broodmares)? I usually just end up breeding my gypsy girls to my gypsy boys, but Im getting a little limited when the majority of my girls have both my boys in em. I have a couple other boys, not ready for breeding yet though.
Do you think there needs to be more horses in your breed? I think paints are okay, but I do see the same lines everywhere, which...makes it hard to keep from inbreeding., gypsies, prroooobably could use a few more.

Thank you for your input!
I'm already breeding a line of paints and gypsies (outside of these groupings that I'm going to do) but maybe I'll put in a couple of each as well, it couldn't hurt! c:

Breeds: Dutch Warmbloods (show jumping), Gypsy Vanners (driving)
Colors Sought: DWBs - any non-gray, maybe roan. Gypsys: solid non-gray
Do you have difficulty finding studs well statted for their age/lineage? DWBs, it's more difficult to find conformation of 70+ with good stats; otherwise I can usually find 600-900 stats. I haven't started breeding my Gypsies yet.
Do you have anything against store horses for breeding? Just conformation scores.
Do you have difficulty breeding your studs (no mares/broodmares)? I haven't started breeding any studs.
Do you think there needs to be more horses in your breed? It always helps!
