Chapter One
It Begins

"Drecol! Please don't do it! I can't go through this another time!" Cilia screamed. Drecol wiped a tear from his eyes. "I have to Cilia. There is no other way." he took the knife and pointed it at her. Tears fell from her eyes. She didn't believe he would do this to something he loved for so very long! Why would he do it now! He took the knife and walked closer to her. They both looked down at the Piggy. He had to slotter it. It was going to be their Easter dinner. She grabbed his hand as he went to stab it. "Why can't we bye a ham?" She asked sweetly bug yet shaky. Drecol wiped the sweat from his head.

"Sweety, you know that there is no point. We live on a farm. We go through this every time. We can't go through it again. His eyes red. "I love this piggy so much and you put so much work into it. But it is time for it to come to what it should of came to a while ago." his precious daughter wiped more tears from her eyes. "But daddy. God put him on earth for a reason." her daddy straightened his hat.

"Yes he did. And he also made it difficult. Now listen honey. This is an important life lessons sweetheart. Now, hmm let me think... Okay, got it. Deer eat grass, they need to in order to survive. They are not on the top of the food chain, unfortunately. They must deal with a tough life like we do. You have to deal with this, and so on. Look, I am trying to put this the best way as possible, since we all know I can't tell stories or lecture kid about life lessons." he giggled, but his daughter was still very sad and did not giggle with him. "We eat deer. We keep them under control. Look, bay girl. If we didn't kill deer, or pigs for that matter, they would eat and breed so fast that they would eat all of their food. Like I said earlier, they need their food. And because their are too many, there isn't enough to go around. They starve. They die in pain. Then, we humans need to stay. We need to keep them under control. Instead of every last deer dying a painful death of starvation, they die painlessly and not all of them even pass. Same with pigs. They would kill themselves out. Especially pigs for that matter! They eat whatever they want!" he smiled at her. His daughter nodded feeling a little better and wiping one last tear away.

They stood up and looked at the pig. "Cant we at least kill another. This one is special."she said. He father giggled. "Why I guess so. I never thought I would hear something like that out of your mouth!" he patted her on the back and she ran out of the house. Carmen, her dear mother was leaning against the door. "Wow." she said with a playful smirk. "You have never made a better so each than that." She walked in the barn with a nice smile. She had beautiful red hair and it swayed behind her as she walked. "Tomorrow is Sunday. You coming to Church?" Drecol looked up.

"Suppose so. It is Easter. Who wouldn't!" She smiled at him and kissed him on the cheek. "Well, goodnight." she said, walking out of the barn. Drec had to skin and butcher a hog. He looked at the one he was about to kill and smiled at it. "I will keep you safe for my little baby." he smiled. "You know, I will just make chucked tomorrow." he laughed. "Wonder if we are having communion serice?" He asked himself. Drec yawned and got a chicken. He did what he had to so to it and started plucking feathers. After a while it was time to take the insides out. He did so, and then walked inside to wash it off. He cleaned the inside of it and smiled. His children would be happy. They lived chicken.

Drec had two children. Drake and Cilia. One of them, Drake, was spending the night at his friends house. They were going to meet at church in the morning.

Drec yawned and put the chicken in the freezer. He walked up stairs and into his bedroom. He thought of his 6 year old daughter. She was so sweet. What would he so without her. What would he do without any of them. He had always considered her his favorite, even though she was the first. Neither was Drake. He sighed at the thought. They had had a miscarriage when they were in college. It was good, but devastating. He wiped his face with his hand and got into bed. He couldn't wait to see his friends at church.
