I currently use Krita but I previously used GIMP, they're both free to download and pretty easy to use, I find Krita to take a little more getting used to. Some other common ones are Paint tool SAI, Photoshop, firealpaca, but I've never used them myself.

Here's a few awesome art guides you should check out if you haven't yet:

And there's tons of amazing artists on EV, that are always willing to lend a hand if you ever need help. :)

I use Krita, Autodesk Sketchbook and Fire Alpaca and they are all amazing programs and they are free to use and to download! However for most of my art, I use Krita and I love it!! If you decide to download Krita, feel free to shoot me a message and I will help you out in any possible way that I can! ♥

Program whys I can't help you. I do my art on my chromebook which I have for school. The school has blocked a bunch of stuff, and I can't download things like art programs. So far, the only thing I've found is Pixlr. It's not great, but hey it works. Making art whys start with simple stuff. Over time learn new patterns, or try more complex things. It's easier to start easy, and to find your style. Once you've done that, you should be good to go!
