[ suggestion for updating dun / cream coats ] from the news article: *Added opacity difference between PP and Pp dominances for the pangare marking (previously there was no visual difference) The suggestion: use the hetero and homozygous alleles to add in "different" variations of the bases for different genes/combos using the pre-existing base art and layering it (akin to the varied base coat suggestion). Disclaimer: I know that's not how genes work IRL, but this is a game so XD ya kno. For example: Β for EE/aa/nD have the dun art layer lowered (maybe slightly darkened at points) to look like a "dark grullo" while Ee/aa/nD have a slightly lighter dun art layer slightly lighter and look more like a "standard grullo". etc.etc.etc. We already have gene specific combos for white patterns, I don't think it would be "too" hard to implement colour mixing for allele specific combos (like ee/AA/ff) display as a "deep liver flaxen" while (ee/Aa/ff) and (ee/aa/ff) displays as a "regular" flaxen. I'm not going to dig through and fuss with the art, because the original suggestion displays it quite succinctly, and it also does touch on other options for dilutions/modifiers. However, it uses kind of a heredity system for how coats pass, which I think might be a bit clunky to implement for the payoff? You could tie the specific "variations" to specific genotypes, so that basically ee/aa chestnut, can have a % to pull (for example) like 5 shades of "base" chestnut, each with a % chance (just like how confo is rolled) it would be a simple rng% without the added maths and whatnot, simple to implement and add some variety. It would also be super easy to make someΒ of the coats "more rare" for each of the combinations, adding a little bit of an extra surprise! I think it would be a huge win for new variety and simplicity, without requiring a huge overhaul or brand new genetic system. Β However, I am also of the opinion that some of the breeds absolutely need their art updated to better match the style of the "newer" breeds (paints come to mind). I think this would add some interest for the players who specifically breed for color. It would make the pretties that much prettier.

I am definitely one who breeds for the pretty color in combination with the stats, and I would love if this suggestion could be implemented in the future.

For tobiano updates: not confirmed but are being looked into. Please don't take this as absolute confirmation of a marking update. (Also what's wrong with Paints? They were the last batch to be done)

I realized it was worded poorly in the original post, but I meant that some of the breeds needed to be updated to more match the style of paints (as an example) since they're one of the more prettier ones in terms of art and coat colours.
