Rulers of the Savanna pt. 2 RP

The scientist had finished and gave Jewl the shot to wake her up and he began to move and was gone in a matter of minutes. Jewl was still fast asleep her ear flickering to signal that she was beginning to wake up around her surroundings. Finally putting her head up and standing up shaking she looked around disoriented. Shaking her pelt she gave a loud heave and a roar to call her cubs out of hiding. The cubs looked at there uncle Solo and then ran to Jewl quickly purring as they did. Jewl looked ahead seeing her brother and purred aloud to him. "Solo i've missed you" she said running and limping to her brother and leaping on him pinning him to the dirt.

"Oh man....... I thought for sure that was a hunter! Thankfully it was only a scientist, but I sure had to fight my instincts to attack him, otherwise I'd be killed by the Great Kings and Queens of the Past as punishment. I'm glad you're alright." He nudged his sister with affection and smiled at his niece's and nephew from his position flat on his back with Jewl on him. "You want to come live with me, Chula, my son's Shula and Scar, and my pride? You need a safer place to raise your three beautiful cubs."

Jewl nodded affection shining in her green orbs and she nuzzled his head and let off a purr. "Looks like you haven't changed a bit I can still pin ya" she said getting off her brother and sitting down calling her cubs to her. The cubs came as told and sat down beside there mother looking at her. Jewl blinked at her brother "I do need protection for my cubs and my limp I have" She blinked at Solo "If the position is still open" she said purring at him.

"Of course............." He purred deeply, nudging his sister again, grabbed Zircon, and trotted off towards the Elephant Graveyard. When he arrived with the pretty lioness and her cubs; Chula was shocked. At first she thought for sure he had gone behind her back again, but when she got a closer look at the lioness, she realized that she looked just like Solo, and sighed with relief. "Good evening to you. I am Queen Chula." She nodded with pleasantness. Zira though, could clearly see that the Queen was annoyed, for Jewl could obviously not help with the hunting, because of her limp. Also, Zira could tell that Jewl was clearly devoted to her brother, King Solo, so she thought she'd be an obstacle to getting Scar to take his place as King, and she also didn't like cubs much; unless of course they were her own and she'd raise the King's Heir.

"Jewl, this is my son and Heir, Prince Shula, and his mate, Princess Kori of the Snowy Kingdom. My daughter, Princess Cholo is married to Prince Nikki of the Snowy Kingdom. And this, is my other son, Prince Scar. He is Shula's Royal Guard." Solo proudly introduced his children, though if you were looking at Chula, you could tell that she had a totally disgusted look on her face when he introduced Scar as both a Prince and Shula's Royal Guard; as she still didn't like him at all and intended to get Shula to banish him.

Jewl dipped her head back in response. Giving her tawny pelt a shake and picking up Sapphire and going into a den to nurse her cubs in peace. Laying down she put her head on a rock looking at her cubs as they nursed and purred loudly closing her eyes. Zircon looked at his sleeping mother and giggled finding this the perfect opportunity to sneak away. The cub shook his head and scamperd out of the den running into his uncle Solo and looked up at the mighty king as he growled leaping at Solo's tail.

Solo playfully growled back, batting at the cub with a large paw, making sure his claws were sheathed, and tossed his tail back-and-forth. "Haven't done this since Shula, Cholo, and Scar were cubs you little rascal. Sneaked away from your mother, eh?"

The next morning, Zira decided it was now or never. She HAD to convince Scar that he had to be the King or else leave forever. But first, she had to turn on her feminine charms, and get him to be her mate. She saw him go off for a morning walk, followed at a safe distance, and watched him stare at his reflection in the watering hole/spring that flowed into the river far below. He sighed, "How am I going to tell her how I feel? Queen Chula doesn't even want me in the pride and certainly would want me to have a mate. Oooooo, I can feel her animosity, even now. But I love her." Zira's reflection showed up next to him and startled him out of his wits. "I feel the same way." "Zira?! Oh, um, uh......... you feel the same about what?" He stuttered, she giggled, and smiled sweetly. "I feel the same way about a male in our pride, but don't know how to tell him how I feel." Scar thought deeply, "She means me, as Dad has a mate, and so does Shula. But, before he could ask those five most dreaded yet wonderful words, she purred again, making him weak as a newborn cub. "I know what you are thinking and the answer is yes." She smiled, his face took on a dreamy look, and walked into the deep thick grass; Zira following close behind. They didn't rejoin the pride till later that night. *fades out*

Jewl finally woke up with her cubs sleeping beside her gently. Shaking her head it looked dark outside and she stood up slowly shaking her pelt. "I've been asleep for two days..." she yawned looking at her precious cubs that were asleep including Zircon that had sneaked out was back and asleep beside his siblings. Giving another shake she looked outside seeing Solo and his mate's den as she stepped outside into the cool air. Digging her claws into the ground she growled "I will hunt for the pride tonight" she said going away in a fast limp pace off to find food.

Having too much fun, Scar and Zira didn't hear Jewl coming till it was almost too late. Scar gasped and hissed. "Get down and hide Zira!" They did and watched Jewl run past them. For, it was against the law for anyone but the King and Queen to have sexual relations, and if caught, you'd be severely punished, or killed.

Jewl stopped catching a strange scent in the air but ignored it limping running in search of prey. Once there she saw a gazelle and growled deep in her throat as she sunk down into a crouch and moved closer to the grazing gazelle. Finally withen moments she was closer to the prey. Gathering her feet and leaping at it from afar. Landing on its back she sunk her claws and teeth in causing it to fall and she moved her position to its neck. Blood bubbling from its mouth she stepped back calling the pride to her catch.

(I was thinking after the battle with the Doles, Nafsi felt out of place with Cali's pride, and decided to take yet another journey to "discover herself", but she fpund herself longing for a life with her brother Solo after meeting him at the battle with the Doles, so she makes her way to the Elephant Graveyard, and wants to join his pride? Of course it is obvious to anyone that she is of Scar's blood, she looks exactly like him aside from no scar over her eye, and has a long scar running over her flank from the Doles, and of course has no mane and is a lioness, lol. Im gonna run with that, but if youd like me to change just let me know and I will).

Nafsi let her sore paws rest as she dropped to the ground between a few boulders which provided just enough shelter to make it worth resting. But she had only been on her side panting heavily for a brief moment when she heard the roar of a lioness, calling her pride to her prey.
Nafsi knew she was near the Elephant Graveyard, and was in the Grasslands already. This lioness must be from Solo's pride! She jumped to her paws, ignoring the immediate pain that followed. She knew the dangers of approaching a lioness with a pride and fresh prey. But if it ment finding a home in her half-brothers pride, then she would take that risk.
Running towards the roar, and the scent, she found herself hungry and her stomach aching. But she pushed the pain aside and kept going. She didn't slow down until the lioness came into view. She had the looks of and Outlander, definitely.
Nafsi, being the quiet and gruff lioness she was, cleared her throat to get the lioness's attention. "Excuse me? I believe you are from King Solo's pride? I am his half-sister, he and I met at the battle with the Doles. Is he near? I'd like to join the pride. I want to feel less like an outsider, and I feel i can achieve that in his pride." This was the most Nafsi had said in a long time, and it felt good to talk again.

Toxic yawned as she stood up from her slumber, her growing cubs still asleep. Today was the say. She was going to tell Kalikow how she felt. But...he was soon going to be travelling to another pride, in search of a mate. And she knew that must mean he didn't feel the same about her. But he had to know...didn't he? Then again, that might mean that she and her merely 4 month old cubs are exiled. And Toxic couldn't have that.
"I'll consult the Princess then. She is his sister after all." She decided with a nid, and slowly began to walk away in search of Kalikow's sister or mother.

Jewl looked up from the kill and to Nafsi stepping away from the carcass and sitting down softly holding her limp and mangled paw above the ground as she looked at the lioness carefully. Dipping her head in respect "You mean my brother King Solo?" she asked standing up and limping closer to Nafsi and blinking her emerald green eyes. "Yes I am part of King Solo's pride, I am Jewl his full blooded sister and Im staying in the pride with my three cubs" she looked back at her then let out another series of roars to get the prides attention.

Solo pricked his ears, opening his sleepy eyes slowly, sat up, yawned and stretched, and then nudged Chula. "Sounds like someone caught some food. C'mon." He grunted, walking forward, Shula and Kori, and the rest of the pride; minus Scar and Zira, which Chula quickly noticed, and smiled cunningly as it gave her the ammo needed to get rid of him.

Scar and Zira woke up in such a rush that they bumped heads. Groaning, Scar rubbed his bump gently, realize that someone had caught some food, and then both realized that if caught; they'd either be punished and exiled, or both be killed. So, they raced towards Jewl, wisely splitting off from each other, and approaching her from two separate directions. Solo and the rest of the Pride arrived, and to Chula's shock, saw Scar and Zira arrived from two different directions, and was disappointed that she couldn't use the excuse that he'd obviously been taking a mate when he wasn't the future King; thankfully.

Kalikow was heading towards the Savanna, wanting to find a mate, for his desire to find a Queen and Mate was getting stronger; but he left disappointed. No unmarried Princesses were left in the Savanna, for even Princess Kalido, Kacy and Valido's only daughter, had left several months before with a rogue that the Rulers didn't approve of. As he walked back towards the Gateway, he heard roaring from above, and listened. He suddenly lifted his head high, realizing with delight and mad at himself for forgetting that King Solo ruled the Grasslands/Elephant Graveyard above the Savanna. Looking around desperately for a path, he finally spied a narrow, almost too narrow path that led up the sheer cliffs. He almost lost his balance three times, but finally made it to the top, and could immediately see where the pride was gathered to eat.

Solo smiled at his sister, for she obviously proved herself to Chula, who was staring at her with surprise/respect, then noticed Nafsi, grinned even wider, for his entire family, excluding Cholo, as she was with her mate in the Snowy Kingdom, when the wind brought the smell of another male in his domains. He suddenly snarled, everyone stopped roaring, stared in the direction Solo stared, and growled. Shula, Scar, and Solo stalked forward, though Solo brushed his paw at Shula and Scar, telling them to stay back, and stalked forward to confront this weird colored stranger himself. His two sons obeyed and returned to the pride, ready to protect Shula's kingdom, and pride. Zira suddenly had the most horrible feeling, like this strange male was here because of HER, and then recognized him. She had seen him once before, on her way to find a secure family/mate, and had barely escaped his advances.

"Who are you and what are you doing in MY kingdom?" Solo snarled, circling the male, who quickly began to circle him, so he wouldn't let Solo get behind him, and risk an attack from behind. "I am King Kalikow, of the Gateway, and am searching for a Queen and Mate." Solo immediately stopped circling Kalikow, for he had heard of the mysterious lion that had been trained up by Samu, King of the Earth, to rule the Gateway that protected the mysterious and magical lands of the Desert, Savanna, the Golden City Jungle, and even Queen Sassy of the Earth's personal Enchanted Jungle! "Sire." Bowing down low, but Kalikow brushed his respect aside. "I'm not any higher of the King than you are! No need to bow. However, for my quest. Do you have a daughter I may pursue as my mate? Or any young lioness that hasn't been touched? Though, the way you are, that'd be unlikely." Solo blushed at this, for it was true, for only Scar's mom had conceived, while the others had not. Chula suddenly had a brilliant idea, gave Zira a smile that she didn't like, and stepped forward. "We have one lioness. She is young and strong. She has only been with our pride for a couple months. Zira, step forward, please." Chula smiled cunningly when she heard Scar gasp, for it confirmed her suspicion, and this would punish him for breaking their law. Zira gave Scar a longing look, but didn't dare rebel, and stepped forward. Kalikow and Zira looked at each other, one with delight, the other with pure hatred, and Solo wondered what on earth was going on. Chula didn't want to let Zira go, for she had proven herself as a good huntress, but couldn't let Scar get away with breaking the law, so it was the best thing. "I remember you. You are Queen material. You may have gotten away from me once, but that is over. Come." Kalikow ordered, walking off, Zira growled deeply, but didn't dare defy him, and with one last long look at Scar; she dropped her head and followed.

Will Zira submit to being Kalikow's mate? She does want to be the Queen after all and here's her chance! Or, will she escape, and get into contact with Scar again? We shall see.......... ;)

Jewl looked as Solo and the pride appeared out of the grass. Zircon,Sapphire and Quartz came running to there mother hiding behind her in fear of the males scent. Standing up even with her limp she growled and her hackles rose on her neck at him. Unsheathing her claws she looked at the male putting her head up and narrowing her emerald eyes at him. Quartz rolled onto her back looking at the sun, finally standing up she leaped at Queen Chula's tail that was twitching. Zircon growled from deep inside his throat and walked up to Kalikow puffing his chest and hissing at him to protect his mother.

"Ouch!!!!!!!" Chula roared in pain, growling at her mate's niece, pulled her tail away from Quartz, and stalked off in a huff. Solo chuckled, looked at his sons, and noticed how down Scar seemed to be. He knew immediately what was up and felt bad for him. Shula tried to comfort him, but Scar brushed him off, and disappeared into the grass.

Kalikow and Zira disappeared into the grass, heading towards the Gateway, and just before they reached the main den; he grunted, pointed towards a small cave, and pushed Zira to go in. She had NO intention of letting this male tell her what to do, for he was way too pushy, nothing like Scar, and expected her to give him sons and daughters. "Stop it! Why can't we get to know each other first and then see if we are fit for one another? I don't want to be your mate, not now." She growled and backed off. Kalikow rolled his eyes, for he liked a challenge, but this was stretching it. "I need a mate and desire a mate. You will be my mate, whether you like it or not......." He forced her into the den and roars of both delight and anger rolled over the entire Gateway for over 20 minutes. Then, a roar of pain rang out, and Zira bolted, a large chunk of his multi-colored mane in her mouth, blood on her paws, and around her mouth, and Kalikow raced after the fleeing lioness; his face freshly clawed and angry. She easily evaded him, for she blended in perfectly into the surroundings, while he stood out in this part of the Gateway. Roaring with fury, for she had once more escaped him, he roared continuously, and then stalked back to his den. Zira, once she put about 30 miles between her and him, dropped his mane, spit out the remaining fur, and licked herself clean. "Hmph! That'll show him. Add a few scars to that handsome face of his. Scar is the only one for me. Besides, I couldn't rule with him, he wouldn't allow it. Too strong willed. I want to rule BESIDE him, not just be his mate. I want to be a Queen!" She grabbed the mane again, trotted off, and headed towards the slightly active volcano that stood between the Nomad's Land, and the Grasslands. She'd be safe there, for no one dared to go near the volcano, for they believed that it was controlled by a curse, and if disturbed; the volcano's lava would destroy the land. It had been the home of a ruler once, a LONG time ago, when King Herex of the Savanna had ruled, but no one remember whom that was. Zira climbed entered this forbidden land, not knowing about the curse, and the volcano seemed to quiver when she entered. For, she WAS the curse. The scourge of the land and could summon it's powers when needed; for she had been the volcano's progeny, though she would not remember, she had been sent as a tiny spark, to a simple lioness deep in the Serengeti, to join to the tiny cub that had been conceived, and created a mighty lioness to rule over the Volcano and control the inhabitants of all that lived in this magical world. Here, she set up her den, finding many pelts, and made a soft den. She rested, especially her ordeal, and flight from Kalikow; before she'd go looking for Scar. While she rested, the volcano gave her power, healed her injuries, and also cleansed her from her forced acceptance of Kalikow's fatherly duties from both her body and mind. Only Scar's fatherly duties were allowed to remain in her mind, for it was obvious he was her mate.

This is getting interesting...... ;)

Nafsi watched it all go down with wide eyes. She didn't quite understand most of it, but didnt question anything. Finally, once everything seemed to have settled down, she turned to Solo. Dipping her head respectfully to him and his pride, she stayed low as she spoke.
One thing she had learned from her mother, and the brief brief time with Scar, that you always submit to others who are above you, and always dominate those below or equal to you.
"I came to request to join your pride. I ask to not be judged on the actions of our father and why I was conceived when he was not loyal to your mother, but to be judged on my own actions." She said, her voice unwavering as she spoke, her green gaze on her half brother, her head low.
