Breeding/Showing....do you have to...

#234821 Posted on 2021-02-05 23:39:46

Just wondering. I notice many people breed and show for confirmation and stats, etc. But can you breed for just colour in the game? Do you have to breed for confirmation and stats as well? I've been thinking of just playing the game leisurely without all the challenging requirements for confirmation and stuff. Since I'm pregnant and I dont really have time for all that right now. I was thinking of just doing colour breeding. But...what are the disadvantages and advantages of breeding that way? Is there anything wrong with not focusing on conformation? Is it necessary in this game or can you do just colour breeding and not focus on the other stuff? There are so many pretty horses in the game that you can get but have poor confirmation stats and stuff and it's harder to get really pretty horses with all the other stuff too. So I was just wondering if I could or do I have to breed for confirmation too.

You can breed for whatever you choose! Of course, if you only pay attention to genetics your NSS and confirmation will be all out of wack, making it harder for your horses to win shows and harder to sell them, but you can just riding school them and make around the same profit. Honestly, I'd just go for it. :)

Just a note- show horses aren’t poor quality conformation by purpose, a lot of people do breed for conformation in showing but it’s very hard to get above 70% without the help of lines from before this version which already were perfect from the old conformation system.

You can breed however you want to but as Tru said, it does narrow your selling and price range options but in all honesty, as long as you don’t hay/sugar cube or cross breed disciplines your horses and therefore keeping them below 60 non-specialty stats then they will be fine for showing no matter how you breed them.

Actually, in the highest show levels even cubing horses doesn't matter. Once horses have above 2000 or 3000 stats, you can see that cubed horses with truly atrocious nss win over low nss horses as long as their overall stats are higher....so no worries there either....
