Surprises in Showing

#228707 Posted on 2020-10-07 17:56:35

I haven't always been the most...consistent player on EV but from almost day one, I've played with Friesians and have (I think) a sizable herd of decent quality. I wasn't entirely sure about the way the new Showing system worked until recently and then I had to wonder why this guy: ♠ Fandango seemed to be performing much better in his grade than he should be considering his stats.

Then I wondered: what about the non-essential stats?

A quick filtered search has revealed the knowledge that I own some of the lowest NSS Dressage horses in the game, and all three of the Friesians with the lowest NSS are in my herd. HOLY MOLY MAN.

After seeing the way ♠ Fandango♠ Pandemonium, and ♠ Sergeant Psycho perform in shows, I suspect that the number of non-essential stats are nearly as important for a show horse as the essential ones. Considering how early they entered the grade, they should not be doing this well - and yet...

I am really excited to finally feel like I have a handle on my showing/schooling system!

Yay. It's great when a system pays off. Congratulations on your fabulous Friesians.

I hope you have even more showing success in the future (but not too much as I have Dressage Trakes on my other account) - just kidding!!

Agreed, I have horses that did better than others for a while too, and I just couldn't figure out what it was about them! Somewhere though, I figured out the horses with less NSS were doing better than others, and now I make lowering NSS a breeding priority.

Congrats on the achievement! It's always fun to know you have great horses!
