PI have joined your club because I have always believed in animal spirits/guides but how do you know if you personally have one? Do they reveal themselves to you or do you have to do something to attract them as it were? Though I get that maybe not everyone has one!

Not silly at all! These are very common questions. I'll send you a private message as well as explaining the general answer here for those questions for others to see. :]

     Every individual has spirit animals that help guide them through many aspects of life. It's my belief that every individual also has a familiar, a birth animal. The difference is, there are different spirit animals that will help you throughout your life, multiple at a time some times but the familiar, or birth animal, is one that is with you always. It is your companion that continuously guides you. It matches deep down who you are and you learning about it can often help you learn more about yourself.

     There are a few different ways people can learn to discover what their spirit animal is. My next week Newsletter will have in depth information on some of the ways as well because I'll be making a Newsletter called, "Your Spirit Animal" but I'll go ahead and explain here as well. Also, it's important to note that your spirit chooses you, so sometimes people find their spirit animal is an animal they dislike, or are afraid of and that can be confusing, but if the individual learns to be open minded and accept their spirit, there can be a great relationship between the two.

Ways You Can Discover Your Spirit Animal

• Mediation


• Dreaming

• You can have a tarot or oracle card reading done to try and get help on how to discover your animal.

The biggest way to know what your spirit animal is, is something people often don't even think of. Which is, do you have a passion for any animal? An obsession with any, or just love and you don't really know why? Or maybe you're scared of one but are drawn to it anyway for some weird reason? These could all be indicators that, that is your familiar/birth animal. Often your spirit animal will try and get you to notice it much in the same way spirit animals try to give you messages, which is, repetitive encounters with the same animal in a short time span, you keep seeing in pictures or on TV or hearing of the same animal that seems too much of a coincidence in a short time span, etc. These are all signs that your spirits are trying to communicate because they can't convey a message to you. Some times they will come in dreams if in real life you are blind to their messages.

I'll be honest and admit I have only ever had a few dream encounters with animals, and I've not yet been successful with meditation. I've mostly had my experiences with readings and watching for signs in real life. Also, often, sense of smell can pick up things. I some times can smell at random an animal like a deer, or wet dog smell, so then I look up those animals because at some of the points I smelled those things I shouldn't of been able to smell that smell. The wet dog smell was in my car while driving and I had no dogs in my car, and it wasn't raining. The deer I smelled outside while walking but that could of been literally a smell from a deer lol. 

Also, I believe that it's possible that if you have any fears, like a fear of water or wind, then it's most likely your familiar/birth animal isn't going to be a bird or water living creature. If you believe in elements this most likely is not your element either. I don't think you can be what you are afraid of.

Typically, if a person doesn't really have an animal that stands out to them then I do a reading and try to learn about the person as an individual by doing a questionnaire. Combining these two methods usually does the trick of pin pointing the right animal or gets close enough to narrow things down. In the end, your animal must feel right to you no matter what. You must be able to feel that connection.

I joined! This seems like a club I will love!

And I think my spirit animals are a horse, cat, and wolf. I will always see them all together during dreams. Do you know if there is a certain reason all three of them are almost always together?

Welcome to the club! =D

To my knowledge, the three do not signify any particular meaning when together. But if you learn about them and kinda put what they represent, you might be able to see a picture begin to form on finding similarities in what they try and help with. Thus, finding out why they may be showing up together. Since every individual generally can have multiple spirit guides at one time, it could be that the three are the ones that typically choose you to guide because there might be aspects of your life that they are aiding in that kind of go hand-in-hand. One of these spirits could also be your familiar/birth spirit and not just a regular spirit that is always around.

Horse
As a guardian/protector the horse protects when you are traveling and provides safe transport to spiritual realms.
As a healer she transforms wounds into wisdom and heals emotional trauma or betrayal.
Omens: New adventure, financial increase.

Wolf
As a guardian/protector the wolf guards you from acting inappropriately and helps you to define boundaries.
As a healer he helps you heal family relationships and restoring strength after illness.
Omens: Freedom requires discipline.

Cat
As a guardian/protector the cat protects women and children and guards against home fires.
As a healer she detoxifies through its energy field and heals loneliness.
Omens: Good or bad luck - Is there a predator in your life?

There is more to their meanings as well, this was just a small list on each. Seeing these side by side, it might be safe for one to assume that they are trying to help heal you from an unhealthy relationship and protect you from the source. Readings can be done too to discover what they are trying to convey to you, or you can meditate or try and ask them to show themselves to you in a dream again so you can try to record what you see, feel, etc and have the dream interpreted. 

I think I was both a rabbit in a past life and that my spirit animal is a rabbit. Is that possible? And what does a rabbit signify to you?

@TheCrypticCat - Thanks very much for your help in figuring out what my Animal Spirit is! It has helped me understand "Me" more or at least be less harsh with myself in certain things :D

@ Syrien: I believe anything is possible and keep a open mind to the possibilities. Rabbits can mean different things, it depends if it's just a spirit guide helping you or your actual spirit animal. Rabbits typically speak about fear.

I have joined the club (: If I remember correctly my spirit animal is a horse because I was born on March 8th 2002 and the horse is the animal for 2002. But I could totally be completely wrong on what my spirit animal is.

A zodiac animal is different than a spirit animal :] zodiac animals are more just astrological signs that talk about an individuals personality and what they should strive for, etc, whereas spirit animals are more specific to a person and help guide you through your life. Several different animals can be helping a person at one time or one at a time and be different the next. Sometimes the same animal can often be helping the same individual time and time again, but then there are the spirit familiars/birth animals. These spirits are a specific animal to that person that always is there but I have seen more often than not that a persons spirit animal is different than their zodiac animal. Like my zodiac animal is a rooster, my astrological is a ram because I'm Aries, but my familiar is a black wolf. I've had a ton of other animals helping me before though, deer, spider, owl, crow, horse, etc. It's not impossible though for your birth spirit to be a horse, I'm just saying it's not common for your spirit to be the same as your zodiac sign or the astrological sign. Feel free to message me if you like!

@Tall Oak - I would definitely recommend you have a reading done by The Cryptic Cat to help find your animal spirit. Turns out mine is an Owl and highly probable that specifically its a Tawny Owl, which when researched further defines "me" accurately and also unbeknownst to me I have been collecting items such as clothes/household objects like hand towels & fleece blankets & even jewellery with owls on for years I just never realised why. They are a strange animal to collect really so this finally made sense!

I have some weird obsession for foxes. Like I could watch videos or photos of them for hours and I want to learn drawing them. I'm never scared when I see them and I see them quite often where I live, here are many foxes and I'm happy about it for some reason even my dog goes nuts every time they appear to me ♥ this spirit animal thing is a new thing to me and even though I'm very logical person I feel like I need to study more. Very interesting! 

Definitely some strong indicators that a fox is your familiar/birth animal then. :]
