Hot Whether and Cats

#225476 Posted on 2020-07-20 07:40:01

New Jersey is hit with a heat wave with temperatures that feel like 105 to 110 Degrees.
When its like this, I make sure my cats stay hydrated, to do that I put 3 or 4 water bowls in different parts of my house.
I also make sure they eat their wet food, if they don’t, I don’t panic, because they have water to drink.
In the Winter, I only put 1 or 2 bowls.

Does anyone do the same thing or am I just weird?

105° to 110° is warm! We live in VA and have been having a good bit of 90° to 100° weather ourselves. I just make sure our water dish stays full but I personally don't put more waters out myself. We also keep the house cool; our cats are strictly indoor kitties so they shouldn't be suffering ill effects from the heat in an AC house.

How many kitties do you have? It never hurts to offer more water if you are concerned about your kitties. Better safe than sorry.    :)

@Evermore- Sorry that I’m responding now, I have 2 cats. Their names are Willow and Mimi, they are also indoor cats.

My parents and I have the A/C on too.
