Graduating

#222861 Posted on 2020-05-15 17:53:46

Hello! As many of you know, I am graduating this year from high school! :D But since this COVID -19 stuff hasn't ended yet.... I will NOT be getting my grad ceremony or my after grad party with my graduating class or any of my friends! :(

We have worked so hard for the past four years and a couple days ago we got a message from our principle saying that grad and the ceremony is cancelled! I got my dress that is super gorgeous and not being able to show it off is really sad!

I have been looking so forward to this day and now it has been canceled... and well now we aren't having a celebration for grad which totally sucks! Not being able to have a grad and be with your friends is something that no one should have to go through. I look at all the other graduates that have graduated already, and I think to myself: It must have been nice to have an actual grad with all your friends and not have to be disappointed about not being with your friends or your graduating class.

If anyone is open for commissions, please message me, I would love to get some art or whatever to cheer myself up!

Aw, so sorry, Tall Oaks!    ♥    Maybe you can skype or something with a few friends and celebrate?

Congrats on graduating, all the same!!

My heart breaks every time I think about it. Even though I'm well past graduation (both high school and college), my fiance actually just graduated college this month too. Right now, I was actually supposed to be with him and his family celebrating (instead, I'm at home 1000 miles away while he's with his family). He actually texted me while I was at work tonight that a couple of his family members were going to pick up celebratory steaks from their favorite steakhouse where we were supposed to have a huge get together dinner. Looking back now, graduation is something I really took for granted. I never expected to see a time when people COULDN'T do all the graduation stuff that I begrudgingly did. (Granted, he wasn't excited for the walk since he went to a very large college... but still). I see all the turmoil he's gone through in the past couple months and it sucks. It all sucks all the way around. My mom is a teacher (her kids are still in school for a few more weeks) and the stress and anxiety and confusion she goes through on a daily basis is awful too. Just all around, this situation is heartbreaking for everyone involved with education.

It really is so sad that you won't get to do all the normal things to celebrate your graduation...and it's a long list of unfairness right now, isn't it? I'm so sorry, but I just want to say a big CONGRATS for graduating! That is a huge accomplishment by itself!!
