Root Canal

#221452 Posted on 2020-04-22 20:52:32

Leave it to me to need a root canal in the middle of a pandemic.

Anyways I noticed back in February when I was away at school that I had a pimple on my gums that I could drain and it would fill up again, after I lost my job and my university kicked everyone out I finally went to the dentist and they said my nerve was dying and infected and I needed a root canal. So I got the root canal done, had a temporary crown put it, and then went back today to get the permeant crown put it. Turns out my temporary crown is stuck and they didn't have time and were too scared about damaging my tooth to be able to pull the dang thing out. So now I'm chewing junk food (jellybeans, in particular) to try and put it off myself or at least loosen it. I'm so frustrated, I just wanted the dang thing out and to be able to finish this procedure. This is my first root canal and I just want the thing to final be finished.

It's always something I swear

Also, hi, sorry for poofing again, hope everyone is staying safe and washing their hands

That doesn't sound like a pleasant experience at the dentist! Yikes, hopefully you can get that sucker loosened up.

Also, good to see you again!

So sorry, Zest! That sounds awful. Hopefully you can knock that crown out. Have you tried carmel yet?

The same thing happened to me. Only my dentist decided to leave it as it was since it was stuck so fast. Naturally The temporary crown fell out several months later one evening whilst I was chewing a chocolate. It was 10days later I finally got to get the procedure finished.

I thought it was just my luck but your situation leads me to think this is probably more common than people realise!

I’m so sorry, you are going through that.
I had a root canal once myself, but before the dentist could put a permanent cap on, my whole tooth became infected and had to be removed and now I wear a plastic bridge.
