This morning our beloved Annie Cat got out. She went missing three years ago due to the dogs scaring her outside. This morning mom was painting the back porch door and left it cracked to dry. She noticed Annie Cat outside and attempted to get her. But she only went further into the woods, the whole family and I have been looking tirelessly for three hours so far. Finally I put out dry food, wet food, cat litter and her bedding along with the back door cracked open in case she decides to come back. I’m so tore up out of the frame because that little cat is the sweet one out of the other two we have. I’m half blaming my fault about if I should’ve woken up sooner to feed them. But I didn’t so Annie cat hasn’t even ate breakfast yet. So all the prayers and good thoughts that we find Annie cat soon are very much appreciated.

Oh no, Daphne!! I am so very, very sorry to hear this. I know that worry quite well and I'm sure you are all just beside yourselves. Don't blame yourself, she will be ok without breakfast. And I think shaking her treat bag if you have one like CW said is a great idea. And you have done everything else you can...food, water, bed and calling her a lot. Let's hope she gets hungry and wanders back right away!!!

Thank you guys. I’m gonna keep everyone informed on what we do. Mom is blaming herself cause she was the one who left the door open (she didn’t mean to) but we left wet food and dry food out and litter for her to smell. Last night was rough I didn’t sleep that much at all. We made fb posts about it and we made fliers to hang around the neighborhood. Periodically I’m going to the woods to call for her. An look, for our sweet Annie cat

This may sound strange but if you take a metal pot and use a wooden spoon to kind of mix around inside of the pot it may attract her to come home. This worked for a friend of mine after she lost her cat and the local humane society suggested it and it worked.

Update of the day- apparently she was spotted at the end of our road, we don’t know for sure or not, the couple said it looked like her the other morning. Then this afternoon I sat in the woods with the reheated cat food both sea food flavor and chicken and cheese flavor and called and shook treats. I even heard a couple meows and tried looking. But they stopped, so soon I’ll go back out there to sit. I just want Annie cat back home from her little adventure :(

I had one of my cats go missing for 3 weeks. ( he did come back but in rough shape). We did it all,set food water, set his litter box outside, and laid out live trips. we seemed to catch every other cat in the neighborhood it seemed like... Anyway. Try setting out her litter box, cats can smell it from a mile away.

Thank you guys so much. It honestly helps to know that you guys are keeping her in your prayers. I will be reheating up her food and setting her litter box and cat bed outside to help. Thank you again so much for keeping her in your prayers

It sounds like she is really quite close, let's hope so!! She's likely just scared, so keep up what you're doing and we'll all keep hoping and praying. The metal pot and wooden spoon sounds so odd but I would try it! Who knows it could work!

So first of all a big big thank you from the bottom of my heart on how you all kept her in your prayers and me in your prayers with Annie cat. Today I heard those meows in the woods and I was at the point tonight where I was sobbing in my bed. Well around 10 my mom went outside to look. She spotted those eyes under a brush and some logs and went back to get my sister and dad to help. I was downstairs crying cause my room is downstairs and I was exhausted from being out there sitting in the woods and calling for her all day. Well they went back and my dad spotted her eyes again and Annie got scared. Then they turned the flashlight off and spotted her eyes again. So sister crawled under the thicket and logs and got the cat out. Brought her back inside to my parents room on the bed. Now Annie is home and a safe, we gave her food and water both dry and wet food. So took her to the litter box and she peed a light red which were assuming is because of dehydration a bit. But nonetheless she is back home and safe now.
