If you can move your horse easily without spurs, then first off, you don't need spurs. Second, if you are into roping, try it first. I don't do roping, personally, but I've dealt with barrel racing, pole bending, and flag racing. But I honestly feel roping suits you if you have others to rope with you and you are good at it.

Ok, thank you so much! I think i will need some soft spurs just to make sure because he tends to get a little cranky sometimes and not want to listen so i will use some soft spurs. I talked to my cousin and the horse is not good with ropes, sooo, pole bending or barrel racing it is.
