Ghosts 'n stuff..

#21644 Posted on 2016-03-21 18:15:23

I hate myself sometimes so much for this craziness.. I want to draw so badly. :(

Don't understand me wrong, you're free to find me silly haha.

I'm not a child anymore. But everytime it gets about 00:00, and my man is going to bed for a nice nightrest, which makes me being alone in the living room (except for my cats), I'm getting so nervous. I can't even function normally because I got the feeling something is looking at me. Watching me from behind and wanting to touch me and that crazy stuff. I hear things (My mind thinks I hear them), although I got my earphones in and the music is banging really loud. I see things that aren't there.. (Afterwards it's just a reflect in the mirror or window) or even feel things that didn't really happen and I want to slap myself afterwards. But I just can't set my mind to it, that there really isn't anything to be afraid of..

I really really wanna draw so much right now, but I'm in the stadium that I just want to jump under my blankets and hug my man closely.

Please someone, comfort me. :(

(P.S. I'm in The Netherlands, and over here it is 02:14 right now)

It sounds crazy, but explain to the ghost that you want them to stop, and that it's scaring you. :)

I asked ours to stop locking my hubby out of the house and he hasn't been locked out since. :)

I'm not a child either, and I feel that all the time! Honestly, I think the psychological thing behind it is just the instinct to watch our backs, protect ourselves from danger, especially in the dark because we don't have good night vision.

This happens to me alllllllllllllll the time. I can't sit in a chair at night that isn't against the wall, I can't sit in front of a window. I hate being outside at night in our huge yard. It's so freaky, and the more you think about it, the worse it gets and the more you imagine things there.

That being said...I do believe in the supernatural and there are unexplainable things that happen with me sometimes.

Is there a light you can turn on? Or maybe just sit against the wall!

I'm not a child & I believe in spirits. I've seen ours & my grandmother who passed almost 20 years ago. I also know that sometimes people are more sensitive in perceiving when "others" are around. I would try what kimtia suggested. Our ghost is a little girl who loves to play with me. She opens the cabinets in our kitchen while I'm in there. Most times I let her have her fun, but on days where I'm too busy I just ask her to stop and she stops. You could also try burning sage and doing a cleansing.

@ Kimtia, thanks. I did what you told me to do. I asked it, if it was here, that it could leave me alone and don't scare me anymore. Really hope it helps. The big problem I think is that I think about it too much. I need to relax, and realise there's nothing to be afraid of.

@ Zell, I have exactly the same haha. My drawing table is against a wall and there's room behind me with a wall and a window in it. Right behind me. I hate it. xD

I cant replace the table, there is no place left for it.. I turned on all the lights in the living room right now, and I turned on the TV to mask noises I don't want to hear. I'm still nervous unfortunately.. :/

@ Valzed, Oh god, that doesn't comfort me at all! xD I believe too, but I really don't want to have anything to do with it. I'm happy that you can communicate with it so fine. :)

Well.. if your cats are in the room, then it's very possible that you /are/ feeling eyes on you. Cats like to stare. O.O

My cats are in the living room. Although one is just sleeping very sweet, and the other one likes to stare to the window or to a dark place. Makes me wanna shiver! :/

Do they ever walk into the room you're in, stare off into space as though they're seeing something horrific and then puff up and haul tail out of the room? I hate it when my cats do that. Lol!

Ghosts in this house have left since I moved in. Frankincense and Myrrh essential oils rubbed over each doorway and window, burned dragon's blood incense, lit several white candles, and then walked through the house saying a healing and cleansing prayer. If I'd had sweet grass or sage and a feather, I would have done that, as well.

No, I am not above combining religious/spiritual rituals to cleanse a house of spirits. Sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do. And it's my experience that it usually works best because you hit it on several different fronts.

It also really does help if you can forcefully tell your spirit to stop. And I mean be truly forceful about it, too. Find a place within yourself where you're no longer afraid and then tell that ghosty off. At least, that's always worked for me.

As a matter of fact, I had a fight with my husband's grandfather over tomatoes.

My father-in-law brought over homegrown tomatoes in a sack. I put the sack, filled with tomatoes in the fridge. The next morning, I went to the kitchen for breakfast and the tomatoes were out on the counter. I thought maybe my husband had taken them out for some reason and forgot to put them back.

So I placed the tomatoes back in the fridge and went about my business. At lunch, I went back to the kitchen for food and there they were, back out on the counter. As much of a space cadet as I am, I figured I only thought about putting them back in the fridge but forgot to. So I put them away and again went about my day.

When I went to the kitchen to start dinner before my husband came home from work, those danged tomatoes were back out on the counter. Confused and irritated, I reached for the sack and the blasted thing MOVED AWAY FROM MY HAND!! That's when I realized I was dealing with a spirit and got a bit aggressive with it. I said "Right. This is /my/ house. Not yours. You're dead and have /no/ say in what I do. The tomatoes. Go. In. The. Fridge!" and then I placed them back into the vegetable crisper, closed the door, looked around my seemingly empty kitchen and said "Don't you dare move those again."

They didn't find their way back to the counter after that. I told my husband about it and at first he looked shocked and then he about died laughing. He said "That was my Papa John. He always kept the produce on the counter. Never refrigerated them. It's probably setting is teeth on edge that you do."

I told him "I don't care how he feels, the old fart is dead and doesn't get a say." Lol! His mother's side of the family loves that story because it is so very much their (grand)father. My husband's aunt, who died almost a year ago of cancer, told me "Daddy wouldn't have liked you much. He didn't like any woman who had a mind of her own and backbone to go with it." I took that as a great compliment.

I'm just going to leave personal experiences out, so as not to frighten you.

Really, having a family meeting where you basically just tell whatever is in your home to leave you alone tends to work most of the time.

Mouse, thank you for sharing your story! That gave me a little smile on the face although I really hope I don't have to deal with such a stubborn spirit! (Or a spirit at all.. please just let it be my mind)

Vos, thanks. I might have done that but I think my family just find me nuts if I'd ask them to come over and talk about this.

Perhaps you find me weak, I think I am.. But I couldn't handle it anymore and went to bed. Tomorrow's another day to let my creative mind loose. It does feel a little like a lost battle now..

I'm also extremely paranoid about ghosts and such. I have to pass the spare bedroom to get to the bathroom and I run in case somethings watching, I sprint up the stairs if I turn the basement lights off because I feel like something is going to grab me, I refuse to look at the dark living room when coming back to my bedroom at night. I am a Very Anxious Person, so I completely understand lol

What I do to lessen it is watch really light TV when it starts getting dark (not usually, because I like dark stuff, but on really bad nights. I'm awful.) Instead of watching psychologically demanding, scary, frightening, or anxiety inducing things I stick to funny shows. I watch Ghost Adventures, Bones, Criminal Minds etc. but sometimes at night I'll watch something like Fresh Prince of Bel Air or Modern Family to keep from feeling so paranoid. I don't know if you have any of those shows, but you can relate them to shows like them.

If your living room is connected to another room, turn those lights on too. Being in a dark room is freaky, but looking into a dark room and letting yourself imagine what might be there is freakier. Lights on means you can assure yourself you're safe.
