UPDATED 11/8: Web comic! over 1 mil in prizes!

howdy, hoomans!
As some of you already know, I'm going to try and make a web comic! I've never done anything like this before, so I need your guys' help. And what better way to get help/thank you for said help than a contest? 

This contest is a little different than most in that there isn't a limited number of winners. Here's what I mean:
I'm looking for ideas for this web comic, such as characters, minor or major plot points, names, scenes, even maybe a well-thought-out (or even very basic idc) summary for an issue or two. Basically anything that could pertain to a comic is fair game. 

I will give out EVD, maybe even EVC depending, based on 1. the quality of the idea (this is subjective, so don't take it personally)  2. if I end up using the idea and 3. The impact of the idea (for instance, if you essentially write the whole plot of an issue, that's going to be worth quite a lot, and you can expect heavy compensation). 

If I end up using your idea, and it has a decent impact, you will be credited, your site/DA linked (if you want), and you'll get the first look at the issues before they officially come out.

you could be awarded EVD even if I don't end up using the idea the reason being that it might inspire another idea that I would end up using.

Don't hesitate to put your ideas out there! They will not be publicly accepted or denied. If I like your idea, I will DM you.

{DISCLAIMER}: if you have ordered commissions from me, fear not! This comic is a side project that I am working on on weekends. Weekdays are for commissions now that I am home-schooled, so don't worry, your art will be finished!


To give you guys a bit of a reference point, all I know about this comic is that I want it to follow a young Viking woman/shield-maiden and her horse. I would like this to be somewhat historically accurate (although the breed of her horse isn't and I'm totally cool with some fantastical elements). I also know that there will be pet bears involved haha.

I have some art done, and some half finished, so, in the hopes that it will inspire you to inspire me, here it is:




I need some ideas for the girl's design, specifically color wise. Also names for her and her horse.

One more thing to make this even more interesting: An additional prize for significant help with this will be the chance to have one of your very own characters featured in the comic! (mostly natural characters, unless you have a freaking boss looking unnatural that could somehow fit in).

for reference, prizes will range from about 15k--1 mil+

This is super awesome, and the art work is amazing. Viking type stuff always catches my eye. I'll be sure to edit this or pm you if I've come up with any good ideas for you. Good luck!

Yrsa: wild or she bear
Ulfhild: wolf or battle 
Hilda: the fighter
Liv: of life
Randi: shield or shrine
Signe: the one who is victorious
Thyra: helpful


And in regards to colors:
I can see her wearing an olive green color and with this shade too, with maybe dark brown accents? 

I can't wait to see what you come up with, it looks amazing so far!

I think he'll have been a former thrall that somehow got away and lives on his own now (being vague because I don't want to give too much away) maybe a former berserker?

So, I downloaded some new brushes, so now I've got a bit of a style update + I picked the font for the speech bubbles:
similar scene as above, but with the new style and the male viking's horse

Vikings ye say? Perhaps a plot revolving around kelpies? The Scottish mythical creature that disguises itself as a horse? An ordinary horse establishing a friendship with one of the feared beasts?

So the main character went through a bit of a revamp: (she still needs a name, and yes I know she doesn't have hands lol I'm working on it)
