Please look at the most recent show results for Doula. Do NSS make that big of a difference that this horse would place so badly? Her stats are high for the grade, tack is great... ugh. I've only returned to the game for one week so far so please explain away.

Yes, her non-speciality stats are likely contributing to her poor showing - at least against the horses she lost to in her recent shows. 

her total stats are good for her grade, but the important thing is her speciality stats. Those aren’t as high as the horses she is losing to because so many (115) of her total stats are in her NSS and not her speciality stats.

look also at the training level of the horses defeating your horse.

The nss are high for your horse, true, but her training level is barely out of beginner (level 2), so it might be she just needs a lot more training/seasoning
