I dont know what I'm doing

Trying to do a realistic drawing of my new boy Pax,  but realistic it not somthing i normally do so I'm hoping it comes out okay. I haven't done much with it yet just the cheek and trying to work from there. I'll post more wips as I get more done. 

About to work on the eye and I'm not sure how it's going to go but so far for my first official realistic drawing I think it's coming out okay

It's getting a bit late so I think this is all I'll be doing tonight, but tomorrow I'll be picking it back up. I think it's coming along nicely.

Well I've done the mane muiltple times to only delet it halfway through each time. I cant seem to get it to look right with the rest of the horse

Tried to change up the eye to be a bit more round...wasn't going very well i did add some eyelashes though and I think not does look a little better then then first one. I'm now starting again with the mane.

This is looking great! The shading is really good if you haven't been doing it much lately :)
One thing I noticed that looked a bit off was the shape of the near eye; it should be a bit rounder. Also there shouldn't be such a big bump for the eye socket on the other side of the face - or you should be able to see a bit of the far eye/some eyelashes :)

Ooo I hadn't realized, I'll go back and see if I can fix it, everything is kind of on the same layer though 

Yeah something about the eye was also throwing me off too, but not quite sure how to suggest what to do lol. Also if possible I highly recommend looking into working with layers, it's sooo helpful. Because that eye could be erased without messing up anything else like it would all being on the same layer.

Next time I definitely will, normally I do work with layers but I didn't think to with this one. I did the eye again and well not quite round I think it looks better now then before, I also adding eyelashes to it. I finished the mane as best I could, spent along while on it. I think I just need more Practice with it. I'm just  about done with the whole thing and will be posting it when finished :)

Well definitely could use more Practice especially with the mane, but is till think it came out pretty good for my first official realistic piece.
