Finding Studs

How do you find studs in this game? I can find public studs just fine, but they never, ever seem to have rolled over? No matter what I do I cannot seem to find studs that I can actually breed to? Not for any of my breeds? Breeding within my own lines is fine, but what if I want some diversity, or horses of a stat level higher than what I've got?

i was going to ask this same question. i hit level 6 yesterday and had the hardest time finding studs

The less time there is until the next day starts in the game (the cron seems to run at about 4am game time), the higher the chance  that the owner of the stud has rolled over already. Try logging in later.
It can be very frustrating, but I can see the point of not enabling to breed to a horse whose owner hasn’t progressed. Still, I hope that in the future this system will be improved somehow.

maybe the stud could be available for a week no matter if the owner rolled over or not. there are probably ones out there that haven't been active for quite a while

I also find it a problem.
Maybe in the search, there could be a specific symbol next to the horse's name, indicating if it's possible to breed to it right now or not...?

Another inconvenience for me is not seeing the price for breeding on horses's page. As far as I've noticed it's only indicated in the search, so if I look at people's profiles and find a heart symbol for breeding and check that horse then I have no way of knowing straight away how much it would cost me....unless I'm missing something...?

I have this same issue and it's driving me nuts. I wish there was a way to exclude these horses from the search. Or if there was a frozen semen aspect to the game where players could collect and sell it, and to use it you wouldn't need the stud to be on an account that has been rolled over. That would be awesome.

I think you can exclude them by not ticking the option: " Include horses whose owners haven't been active within the past 7 days".

@maplɛ - I realise that but I meant the situation when I browse through sb's horses, see one for stud but don't know the price because this player hasn't progressed their account yet

sorry for the underlying the whole sentence - somehow I can't get rid of this line.... :(

@Lenka, not ticking the box doesn’t exclude the horses whose owners haven’t rolled if they have been online recently. The player may have been online yesterday for example, but if they haven’t progressed, they’ll still show up through the search.

You're right ! I haven't thought about it because when I unticked the box, all not progressed horses disappeared from my search, but you're totally right: it doesn't solve the problem completely....
