Appaloosa advice needed.

I’ve been trying to build an endurance appaloosa herd, and have been keeping them locked until i have the number of horses i’d like to work with.
I’m really fond of the varnish roan pattern as well.
However, i’m finding myself a bit unsure that my choices are the right ones, and would love a little advice.

Should i change my appaloosa herd?
What specialties are appaloosa buyers most interested in?
What patterns are desireable?

What a great idea! Varnish roan endurance Appies.. Love it!! I say keep going with it if its something that catches your fancy.. Varnish roans are generally more desirable than the few spots.. 

Generally speaking.. most appaloosa breeders breed western discipline horses.. However, I breed every discipline.. I select foundations based on their non spec stats and if they indicate a horse would be better at driving or racing.. then so be it.. thats what I train them in... I do have endurance Appies as well..  There is a market for show jumping Appies.. for sure.. 

In terms of patterns.. few spots are less desirable.. ugg there are so many of them and they are just not as 'pretty' as some of the other patterns.. 
Leopards are highly sought after.. as are spotted blankets... Some players are attracted to the pintaloosas  (appys with paint markings like tobiano and overo ) you can go nuts with a huge variety of coat colours and patterns if you breed the pintaloosas. 
I would try to avoid breeding too much PATN1... or combining it with LpLp.. this results in few spots..However, if you breed Lplp with PATN1 ..you get leopards!
PATN2 will give you the blankets....

Lplp PATN2patn2 will give you a small spotted blanket
Lplp PATN2PATN2 will give you a large spotted blanket
LpLp PATN2patn2 will give you a small white blanket
LpLp PATN2PATN2 will give you a large white blanket..
