Showing Question

#198885 Posted on 2019-01-20 08:46:04

Ok, now I know that stats are mainly what is looked at for showing along with tack and health/happiness.  Are there any other factors that come into play for show placings? Like less tangible things like presence or courage, something that can be selectively bred for or is this a game mainly on what you can see?

Unless something has changed in the last few months (i've been gone for a bit), the factors in showing are:
Stats (specifically number of discipline and non--discipline stats)
Training Level
Tack
Luck

The first four factors we can control, the last one we can't.

So none discipline related stats play a factor in show placing? not just show related stats?  So if I had a horse with say

10
1000
1000
10
10

and I competed against a horse with

200
 900
 900
200
200

my horse would not be the better horse based on just show stats alone?

What Kahzie said.

Training level is what influences luck - the higher the level, the better luck you (may) have.

Tack is huge.  If you don't have full level 5 tack, you are at a big disadvantage to those who do.

As far as stats go, the rule of thumb is to figure out what traits belong to your discipline.  For example, strength and endurance for Driving.  You will want strength and endurance as high as possible, and the other three traits as low as possible.

Essentially, your placing is determined by the total of your discipline stats, plus whatever bonus stats you get in those traits with your tack, with non-discipline stats counting a small and unknown amount, and a random "luck" factor thrown in.

Ok so you want the none discipline related stats as low as possible gotcha.  I already knew about the showing discipline stats, just wasnt sure if there was anything else I should be breeding for.  Thank you for the advice and help =)
