Horse Breed Help

#198364 Posted on 2019-01-07 08:45:29

So I currently breed 4 breeds; CrCr/Crcr Driving GVs (Lines/foundations), Western Foundation Appys, Western Foundation Paints, ee SJ Trakes (mostly lines).

I'm not sure If I should continue with these specifics as they are almost getting boring.
So my question to all of you is how could I make these four breeds more interesting for myself? Or If I drop a breed which one should it be and what new breed should I start?

If you think those are breeds/disciplines you would want to stick with I would just try doing more outreach to other breeders to include new lines and such. If you join clubs that go along with them that might be a good way to start.

Look at your personal goals, see how you could improve upon them. Right now, as you know, the market isn't great. So depending on what you are bored with it may or may not improve by getting rid of a breed and adding a new one.

It just really comes down to personal preference and what you are trying to achieve or what would make you less bored. If there is another breed/discipline you would be interested in go ahead and start some up. Look to see who works with them and see if they might be able to breed some horses for you or if they have any they might sell. Lock up one of your other divisions for awhile, see if maybe they spark your interest again in the future?
