Embarrassing injuries

#193794 Posted on 2018-11-11 15:15:02

Hi so I'm low-key mortified right now because I hate crying in public. So today my sorority played in a dodgeball tournament hosted by another sorority (greek life ♥ ) and we won! However I really am not coordinated and during the third to last game I fell and couldn't straighten my leg and boy it really hurt, I got up and sat down a game and came in for the last game and won it for us (caught the last ball). But I really hate crying in public (especially from dodgeball 😳) and now my leg is hurting up my hip (if it doesn't get better I'll get it looked at, I think I just pulled a muscle or something) and was pretty embarrassed. Anyone ever get hurt doing something embarrassing? (I love dodgeball but I feel like getting hurt in it is different from something cool like riding or soccer etc)

Ugh!!!! That sounds horrid!

In my case. How about sitting with your Baseball team, as you're the Baseball Sweetheart at the home opener for the Men's Basketball Team, went to use the bathroom, and grab a snack during half-time. I went to go sit back down and was saddened to see my team had "left" during half-time but then noticed that they were on the other side of the arena! Urgh!!! So annoyed with myself, got up, started walking up the stairs to go around to them, and trip, fall, and scrape your right knee hard on the stairs; with your purse overflowing with stuff going everywhere! Ouch! My leg is bruised, struggling to grab everything, and having 20+ people asking if you're okay/helping you. Embarrassing and top it off, your Baseball players saw it happen and freak out. *blushes bright red* I hate admitting I need help but will if I have too; as I'm an independent woman and prefer to do things myself. I felt so embarrassed and helpless then; as this one lady "mothered" me, claimed she was a nurse, and wouldn't let me go until she looked at my leg; had to roll up my legging and roll down the sock, as well as taking off my boot.

Aww my gosh you poor souls! ♥

Literally saw the title and thought this is my moment to shine xD

I was in a cast for a few weeks cause I feel through an aquarium.. One not holding fish... That was in our pond... That I stood on to try to make it appear that I was "walking on water". Two surgeries and 68 stitches, two cut tendons in my foot (missed all the important stuff thankfully), but I cut up the top of my foot pretty good. It's gonna take forever for my foot not to feel numb because of all the nerve damages and whatnot, but I'm good and walking as of two weeks ago (back in gym class too). But yeah, I walk into the hospital and I get called " Jesus Girl/aquarium girl/foot girl " cause it has been a story to tell xD

Honestly all the laughing got me through it more easily, the big joke (because I was on meds that made me loopy all the time) was that I no longer had a future career in for modeling cause of the nasty scar that covers the top of my foot. Btw loopy meds + school DO NOT mix very well!

I was at a high school dance playing wallflower - leaning against wall - badly sprained ankle from wearing sandals with lowish heel.  Had to get a taxi home that night.  Did the other ankle a few weeks later falling off a horse being dragged by the stirrup on my first canter lesson.  Full class.  Parent not pleased as going to grandparents that day & had to walk into town to catch a bus (usually 20 minute power walk from home).  3 days later after swelling gone down a bit was strapped in elastoplast.  talk about red face when plaster came off - nurse did not shave hairy legs before i had to remove plaster.  (this was 50 years ago when in early teens and still resemble a beetroot when think about it.)

I am the queen of embarrassing injuries. One that comes to mind is when I was 18 I was stepping over a laundry basket to look out of the window. Instead my toe got caught in one of the holes of the basket. I broke my toe and fell forward and hit my face on the window sill. That was embarrassing.

This one wasn't embarrassing to me, but it was embarrassing to the person that injured me lol.  I was 5 or 6 years old, and I was at church for the Wednesday night youth bible study, which started with all the classes assembling in the church gym.  I was struggling with the doors (which were heavy--at least to a little kid lol), when suddenly the guy in charge of the bible study came bursting out.  The door hit me right in the face.  I was crying, my mom (who was dropping me off that night, but hadn't left yet) was furious, and the bible study leader kept apologizing and looking embarrassed.  My mom finally asked him to leave the scene, and she later told me that he was lucky to leave in one piece XD.

Ah, ouchy

I was doing a dismount off the beam into the foam pit, and the foam pit was very shallow with a cement floor underneath, and I'm very tall. So I dismounted into the foam pit, and sure enough, hirpt the concrete and jammed my ankle. I crawled out of the pit crying, which was abnormal for me since I have high pain tolorance, but it was kinda hard to explain since no one can really see the concrete underneath, and so I felt like no one believed me lol

One of my staff recently gave herself a concussion at work... she tripped over her pants in the bathroom and fell and busted her head... I was embarrassed for her.
