Showin high stat horses: Worth it?

#193709 Posted on 2018-11-10 05:33:45

Question for those players who have really high statted horses. I'm talking 1500 stats and up...

I own several Na3, Na4 and Na5 horses and I'm wondering if it is even worth showing them?
I only show horses that are very close to their show level limit, but even than my top horses have so little competition that they hardly win any stats or money.

It is nice to get some ribbons and places on them, but is it really worth it? Are they better of in riding school where they'll at least get a couple of stats on them? But it's such a shame to raise them to National and International levels and than just put them in riding school.

What is your opinion?

I'm not quite at this point yet (My second gens are Na1-Na2, but my upcoming 3rd gens should hit Na3 and up) but I do the same thing with showing my horses at the top of their grade.  But I only show them if I know the shows will get 5 slots each.  So either with my own horses, or that and other people.

Its a bit counterproductive to put 5 of your own horses in shows, but sometimes you have to just to make them run.

I show everyone one of my horses from N1 up to now I1 when they are in the top bracket and have a good shot at winning. I do my best to only enter shows that already have 4 entries or will get at to at least 5. A lot of the shows will run full though. I'll only enter 3 of my horses to a show so they all have a shot at placing.

Personally I find it worthwhile as long as they place in a couple of shows and win at least 1 stat point.

Show everything! On my main i have horses up to International and they seem to continue to progress no matter what part of the bracket they are in. Obviously I don't carefully watch stats and riding school at all until retirement, but I'm of  the philosophy that a shot at 30 stats and possibly getting none is better than steady 3-5 stats. I also know someone's got to lose the shows and not get the stats so that the others can so happily allow my horses to sometimes become the fodder for others.

On this account I've been trying to only show in the top 15-10 of the bracket with the Tekes in the other division and they just don't seem to be progressing as fast as my other horses (could be a bit of lack of progressing over the summer/harvest too, so they aren't gettingthat much love).

I try to show my horses from N1 to I3 but when I put my shows on; they are either undercut if above $40 for the higher levels or people do not enter because they feel the price is too high for the quality of their horse which is frustrating. at the moment I have lots of horses bunched at regional/national level so am trying to compete with the favourites & send the others to school.

I show everything that is showable, and I make money.

I have no complaints about stat gain, either.  Some may go a little slower, especially if I have a ton in the same division, but eventually the better ones will move on up and give the lesser ones a chance.

I use Auto Show, too, on Least Entries, so they get spread out as much as possible.  Sometimes this means that they don't get five horses in a show, but that just means that I'll exchange stat gain for money gain for a bit.  Which is cool by me.  Stats are so easy to gain, anyway.  And it means that, automatically, my horses will be competing against each other as little as possible.  I love the Least Entries feature.

I will be trying to get my horses up to this point... though how does one manage a national level generation 2 horse? That is a surprise to see.
I will be showing my horses every generation once they have gotten to training level 5.
