I'm going to throw this out there just to be clear:

Not all cheap horses are bad horses.   I would prefer everyone to do at least some form of vetting where possible. Low gen, "starter" horses for new members are often posted at lower prices. Starting with buying the cheaper horses is fine, but please do not remove horses from the market just because they are cheap.

I found that stud. He retired with 121 foals. I just got two Paints from the Sparkling line.

@ Nittrous, there's no universal way to measure a horse's quality. Personally, I think any cheap horses that didn't get sold = low quality. why? the sellers set the price that way because they know that they will not get sold at higher price. I choose to trust sellers' judgement. Some players think of stats only. conformation only. pedigree/overbreeding. color. etc etc. I cannot vet a horse fairly when I don't know the breeders' preferences of that breed. If you're not comfortable with my way, then I will gladly quit the club.

also, you will ends up losing money if you vetted horses carefully because they can be anywhere from $500 to $100k. I don't show horses so I only can afford horses that cost less than $3k or I will lose profit. I also don't have main herd as my source of income since I don't breed. This method is the way I choose to play. I will continue this way even if I am asked to leave the club.

I got those 4 appys out of Windspun's Gift.

The way I sort through it is if there is inbreeding or over breeding. If a horse is low in stats and young in age and has clean lines or foundation lines, I leave them because we have group contests on here sometimes that use the lower statted horses to try to build them up in a said amount of time....

@Demon -
I've just had it brought to my attention some EV members were selling their horses for cheaper in hopes of offering newer members the chance at a partially raised horse.  I can't stop your buying practices, nor do I mean to, but I figured I would simply throw it out there that there are good horses out there for cheap.

This club is simply for the cleaning up of EVs horse market by removing horses that are detrimental to the game.  I just urge members to stride towards it.  The horses are for sale, so what happens to them after sale is at the buyer's discretion.  I'm just not trying to step on any toes unnecessarily.

@ Nittrous:
personally, I am against that practice. I understand that they means well.
They are the reason why newer members doesn't know how to price their horses properly. They contribute in decreasing value. If someone put up a good quality horse for 1k, why would someone buy same quality for 20k. since those good quality horses valued 1k, then anything below that quality valued nothing. obviously, nobody want to lose money. players would try to sell their lesser quality horses for same price but nobody would pay 1k for a horse that should cost $0.

Now, if we all sell good quality horses for 20k. then lesser horses will actually have small value and will have better chance at getting sold for 1k-5k. It gives newbies a chance to earn money instead of losing their money and horse space.

just a food thought for you and everyone else.

In order to make a true profit, a horse should worth more than the cost of care and their show/riding school income.
Yet, I've seen so many players said this, "why would I pay 50k-100k for a horse?!"
I can understand why a lot breeders choose to go private. they will just lose money if they choose to sell their horses.

EDIT:
If a player want to help newer members, they should sent them money and give them tips on what is good quality horses instead of lowering the value.

I feel bad that until now i was kinda overbreeding my lines like.. way to much. I have atleast 3 appy studs that have beed bred almost 30 times, so im gonna start culling some of their foals or just gelding them/not breeding. If i see their lines ill be snagging them and culling them. If anyone sees appys that have "Bring me a dream" or "flaxen beauty" in their pedigree please let me know :) One of my mares is from one of Windspuns overbred horses so her foals are all done and none are being bred. I would like to appologise for causing some overbreeding but i would love to help out in any way i can! c:
