I wrote a song!

So for English we could choose how we wanted to do our book report. We had a lot of different options like the generic poster, a poem, a skit or really anything as long as you ran it past the teacher. And then I heard the final option. You could write a song. Now, I realllly love music so naturally I picked the absolute hardest option; the song. I didn't go with the easy A for a poster, I didn't even settle for the meh level of difficulty poem. Nope. I had to go for the most difficult to pull off cause that's just who I am. *groans*

Then, of course, I got chronic writer's block for the next 4 weeks. Of course. I had my book picked out, I had lots of ideas written down on my phone, but I couldn't piece any of them together until like 2 weeks before the deadline (Monday). Then there was the inevitable dilemma of fitting those words to music. Honestly, most of the time it felt like I was trying on clothes at Plato's Closet and I liked what I was wearing but it didn't fit and there wasn't anything similar in my size. 

Finally, yesterday, I figured out the last part of the song and started recording. Man, I must've recorded each little piece of that song 7 or 8 times at least. I'm pretty bad at getting things the first time. I recorded for 13 hours yesterday and finished it after working for 2 more hours this morning. Then there was exporting, making a lyric video for school, sending it to my teacher, etc. 

So here I am, an sad excuse for a blob of creative exhaustion. I'm not sure about the rules about posting SoundCloud links, but it's on there somewhere.

I feel you!! I don't write lyrics necessarily, but when I try it is absolutely exhausting!!! Good for you actually getting it done lol
