So, just over a week ago my grandmother in law was rushed to the hospital with heart failure, liver failure, and lung failure. She has had issues on and off for quite some time and we all knew she was ready to go. Sunday the family decided to take her home and put her on hospice care. I don't think they realized how much work it is to take care of someone at that stage. I stayed for almost 3 days straight. Cleaning her up, re-positioning her, changing bedding, and keeping her comfortable by using a syringe to give her lorazepam and morphine. I slept sometimes for an hour or so at a time but not much. I knew the family wasn't capable of taking care of her on that level and even if they could...the stress and worry of it is beyond what anyone should have to go through. I just lost my dad earlier this year so it was an emotional roller coaster for me. Early thursday morning, at 2:13am I was with her and holding her hand as she peacefully took her last breath. I had to wake up the rest of the family to tell them, call hospice and let them know, call some family. It was all awful...but somehow the experience also brought me some type of closure with having lost my dad as well. This is the 2nd time in 8 months I have sat with a loved one as they passed away. Anyway, this is the reason I have been very absent from the game for awhile. It has been a few days and we are just trying to get things sorted at my house. Thankfully my sister and mom took care of kids for us so that I could stay with her. I'm tired. After finally sleeping awhile I realized the adrenaline it must have taken to keep me awake for nearly 3 days and move her around by myself(she was nearly 180lbs). My entire body is still aching and sore. I was limping around the store today when I had to go buy wormer for our donkey.

I am so sorry for all you have been through, and your losses :( That is so much in a short amount of time! Bless you for being with them both when they passed, I know that wasn't easy. I hope you are able to get some rest.
