Brokenhearted but Coming Back

#190815 Posted on 2018-10-04 14:19:10

My heart is still in pieces, but I am coming back. However, I'm mostly leaving the horse side of EV for now, and sticking around for the community. There's around three to five horses I intend to keep, however the rest will be up for bid, as my besties get first dibs on them. Others will be gelded, and sent to the RC (mostly the males from the worst horse project). Also will be doing an inventory clear out as well.

I, of course have new updates, plus will be working on art that is due all day today. I've just been quite down for the past few weeks after what happened, and hadn't even wanted to open GIMP to start any big projects.

We do plan on getting another Miniature Horse, either a gelding or a stallion. We'll be however getting one that is at least 3 years old, so we know better what their personality will turn out to be, and their conformation. As Shawn has quite turned into what we had hoped for, which is one of the many reasons he was gelded. We want another gentle laid back boy like Sidekick was. Chance needs it too. Since Sidekick was the leader and alpha boy, Chance has had to fill in for him. And there's been a power struggle between him and Shawn who looks and acts like a stallion. But, Chance has put him in his place each time.

However, Sidekick was Chance knight in shining armor and guide through life's many dangers. Without him, he's become loads more fearful, even with me if I walk into a blind spot for him. He also is eating slower, without his best bud next to him. So, I've been packing on the extra love, attention, and training sessions with him. Which he has been loving. We've been doing a lot of liberty work, and he's having a blast. Rearing, jumping, and bucking during our half hour sessions. He's always a joy to work with, and I love my baby boy.

Soon I plan on posting unreleased photos of Sidekick, from my various photoshoots with him and Chance; with his full story, accomplishments, pictures of his offspring, and what he's done for us all. That'll be a long post that will be posted on all my social medias, here, and deviantart. However, I've got to gather them all, edit, and watermark everything, plus write up my speech, and interview my parents. Also I'm planning on purchasing a memorial stone for his grave, and a bouquet holder to put flowers in. I eventually want to get memorial stones for all the pets we have buried in our cemetery, however I have to find good pictures, pick quotes, and estimate some of their birth years. Also memorial stones aren't cheap, the ones I like usually are upwards of $50, which is expensive but worth it in the end. So, probably after the holidays I'll be saving for that.

Also plan to get a memorial plaque for inside the barn, on what would have been Chance and Sidekick's shared stall. As well as another one, for the other horse we have buried here; Darq Justise aka DJ, my mom's other heart horse, (Sidekick was the first). Which I'll one day do a memorial piece on him as well.

...........................................

I'm also planning to completely change up my bedroom. It's huge, and set up very well to be like a mini apartment. So, I'll be getting everything out of it, repainting the walls, and trim from the hideous tan-brown colour they are now. To a beautiful aqua blue colour with frost white trim, and crown molding. Then, getting some shabby chic furniture, house plants, succulents, accent furniture, a loveseat, a chair, new lighting, a new bed frame, shelving, decor, curtains, my new door (which we purchased years ago xD), and finally some pets to go in the new room lol.

I was working on a new fish tank, but since I have all this room stuff planned, I don't want to get them until the room is all painted, the new furniture is in, and most of the stressful remodeling is done.

The plans are that my bed/relaxation area will be separated by a sheer curtain, to have some semblance of privacy from the rest of the room. My "relaxation/sleeping area" currently has two night stands, two windows with ugly blinds, a shelf, my fullsize bed, an 80s style light, and a tv mounted on the wall with a mounted shelf that has roku, vcr, dvd, bluray, etc

After the remodel, I plan to have curtains instead of blinds, so I can better enjoy watching the birds, and seeing the sunshine. I plan to have only one nightstand, with a medium sized corner table on the other side. And maybe a small shelf for books, and small decor. The light is still being decided for the replacement, but it'll definitely be really cool looking. My wooden barn headboard will be replaced by a iron filigree headboard and footboard, saving loads of space. My dreamcatchers, wooden bear carving, and framed pictures and paintings will also be on display like they are now.

More to be added, I need to feed the horses their dinner and chat with my mom.
