WELL its been a busy 2018 for me.
Well, sort of.
My best friends moved away (we're talking 22 years of friendship). They moved to Texas, and i am still in california. We talk but havent seen each other since September of 2017. Sad panda.
My cruise to Alaska was great. It was my second cruise there, this time with family. The first time was with my friends up there and their family, my second family. This time however, since grandma and grandpa were there, we did excursions. First one was whale watching and visiting the Mendenhall Glacier. That was cool, we saw a wild porcupine and some bear dung x3
Then I got some amazing pictures of the Humpbacks.
The second was Steve Kroschel's place. He has a secluded property where he rahabs and owns exotics. He has a wolf, a grizzly, a few wolverines, some weasels/weasel cousins, elk, a moose, and some other stuff. It was really cool and he's so passionate about his animals and it's very clear they love him too. His bond with his wolf was amazing, but his bond with his wolverine was even cooler.
Then we were supposed to do a nature hike but my grandpa just wasn't feeling it, hes been having a hard time especially with his breathing. So instead, grandma switched it to where it was just me my siblings and my mum, so the grandparents could just stay on the ship or walk around Ketchikan, and paid a bit more, to get us on a different excursion. This one was my favorite, which is stupid, cuz Kroschels animals, were epic. But this one we went on board the Aleutian Ballad, and if anyone watches or watched Deadliest Catch, you'll know the ship. The captain was amazing, and he actually did a cool presentation on our cruise ship days earlier. They brought up crab pots and showed us how they do it when actually out to sea. They were fun and informative and it was amazing. And they have a memorial pot, it doesnt do anything, they leave it out there, but for a small donation to them, you can have them put a memorial tag on it, and they leave it for a year. My mum did it for my recently passed "adopted sister". I say adopted because she was my mums patient, but became really close to us all. Its been a year now since she left us and she'd have turned 12 this year. So she is now memorialized on their pot for the next year. They also have a cool deal with the natives, and they get to go into the protected areas, and feed the bald eagles. 100's of them were everywhere grabbing food. I got some cool photos. But thats not the best part. My most favorite part and I am really surprised i didn't cry in that moment right then and there, but someone said "Orcas" and my family swears I teleported upstairs cuz they didnt see me move but they turned to look at me and i was gone. I finally got to see a wild pod of orcas. There were two males, a few young ones, and good looking females. Judging by their fins, they are not resident orcas but transient, so that was cool. That trip fulfilled one of my dreams in life and that was to see at least one orca in the wild. I got a bunch of pics of them, even if they were just fins.
I also got the very amazing honor to see some Dall's Porpoises.
If y'all ever get the chance to cruise Alaska, do it. It's expensive, but it is worth it, it's a lifetime experience you will never forget and I already cannot wait until I get to go back again.
After the cruise, my store had a big change, we were opening a new store! (McDonalds). My boss was going to go take that store. So an influx of new employees and it was hectic oh my goodness.
With that out of the way, my family is actually planning on moving to Idaho! Out of Cali for good soon hopefully.
And as some of you may know, I own snakes. Balls pythons primarily, but I also have three hognoses and four boas. Now. This was our first year attempting breeding (well the 2017 season, really). We had 10 females ready to breed. So we paired them. One of our females died one night. She was one of our prettiest girls, if I do say so myself. She was healthy, nothing was ever wrong with her, she was eating, she was beautiful. But for whatever reason, she just up and died. We have our suspicions, but I cannot say what they are. Let's just leave it at snakes have sensitive lungs, and at the time we had house "mates" who didn't care and exposed the snake area to smells and chemicals they shouldn't breathe in. One snake lost was sad, it was traumatic for my mum, but with her mentor talking to her, she didn't give up. Out of our now 9 females who bred, only 3 laid eggs. Not bad for a first season, not perfect, but it is our first time so we are happy. Our first clutch was from Bigi, who laid 8 eggs, though 2 were slugs, but only 4 survived, though one of the females never ate, and we fought hard, did everything, she didn't make it. Her sister too refused to eat, started growing weaker. We assist fed, we legit tried everything we could. I refused to give up on either. I lost one, and it looks like I was about to lose the other. But she turned around, after her second assist fed, I offered her another meal, alone. She took it. And she took another, larger meal, and another, and yesterday she ate an almost adult sized mouse on her own no hesitation and I am so proud of her you have no idea. I didn't give up on her when everyone else said I should, and she didnt give up on me. Norma laid 8 eggs, one slug, all made it to full term, but one sadly did not make it after hatching. But the rest are gorgeous strong healthy babies. Then Harley laid. 6 beautiful eggs. six? i think six, im so tired. Anyway the babies are beautiful and omgoodness they're so ghhgir ♥ ♥
so everyone looks great. I love em all. Breeding season is coming again and i start cooling in a few days. Yikes.
BUT!
we attend a lot of our reptile shows out here. We usually leave with more snakes x____x
but this show
WE are VENDING! Look at that! Can you tell which one is mine? (hint: Spyder Ball Morphs)
I am so excited! We are taking about 15+ Snakes with us to try to sell, including some of the babies (not harleys, they havent eaten enough meals yet), and we get to experience it from the vending point of view. It's exciting. Besides that all, i have nothing more to say really. Im tired, i am excited, I got to talk...
OH I got my first loot crate too! Im also excited for assassins creed odyssey, but more excited for Red Dead Redemption 2!
I also have Spyro, Lets go Eevee, and Super Smash Ultimate pre-ordered as well. Some are for my ps4, others for my xbox one, and of course the ones for my switch. and yes i also got the ps4 exclusive spiderman game.
thanks for hearing me out, i feel a lot better now that i got to just.... talk. And its all friendly chatter.
