australian saddles?

I am just curious if anyone else has ridden in an australian saddle? I did for the first time this past weekend. It was given to me with my little blind rocky mountain mare. it was like nothing i've ever experienced before. i expected it to be similar to riding in english saddle but it wasnt! It wasn't like riding in a western saddle either though! oh and by the way, gaited horses is the way to go. i was hesitant to bring her to a trot because im usually bouncing all over and my back hurts from it...well guess what? felt like floating on a cloud. it was awesome.
