To make breeding easier by adding the stallion's image to match up by using the mare's image. At the moment all we have is their name to go by. No other details show when breeding unless we add them manually, ie colour, stats etc. So for example if I have a dunalino stallion and I want to breed him to a dunalino mare it would show in their image. I have so many horses that I would have to add manually every horse with certain colour genes or certain colours, markings etc. to their names.
