Links

Please can someone help me with linking as I am almost considered as a technophobe.
I know know nothing about coding apart from words like html exist but don't know what they mean or how to apply.
Please give me the dummies version (essentially foreign language version because that is what it is to me)
The reason for this request is to enter competitions & provide links on my home page to my beauties.  I am a basic member if that puts a fly in the ointment (meaning makes it harder to do).

If you, say, wanted to link a horse, you'd highlight the url of on the horse's page (like shown here), Copy it, (Ctrl+C), go to the forum topic or your homepage depending where you wanted to link a horse to, and click on a button shaped like a paper clip (here), and then a  box that says URL: and one that says Description (optional): (as shown here), Then in the URL box paste the url into it (Ctrl+V), (here), and if you want to just do a link that says the url like this: http://www.equiverse.com/horse.php?id=769576 but if you want to link to your horses by their name or whatever, type what you want it to be called in the Description box. Like (This). It will show up like: Dark Waters. If you typed Dark Waters into the box.
Does that make sense?

I will try that in a bit after horse care done and let you know if the almost technophobe has grasped this particular nettle.
