Horse Breed Help Needed

#180023 Posted on 2018-07-21 11:45:42

So I currently breed GV, TB, Paints and Quarters

Gvs - must have Crcr or CrCr and briving bred
Tbs - racing bred
Paints - western bred
Quarters - must have ZZ or Zz and western bred

Im considering swapping some breeds for others, so my question is what do you all breed for and out of all my horses which one of mine should I drop and swap?
Or if any of you breed the same as me let me know so I know some more breeders. xD

Well I breed the following:-

DWB - for the TT pattern in SJ & Driving
Trakes - also for TT & CrCr in SJ and Dressage
Chincos - raised in Western / specific breed goals undecided as they are my Foundation generation
Friesians - Ideally solid blacks and chestnuts raised in Driving

As to which breed you should drop personally I'm not sure!

When working with a breed I find you have to be into it to do it any justice. For example I'd be lost without DWBs (had them 7years) & Trakes (5 years) who are my main focus but I can live without the Chinco's & Friesians who are a much recent additions in the past year. I am DWB obsessed though as I have bred them on various horse sims since I was 11 years old!

I just focus on Dutch Warmbloods (I unfortunately don't have time to add in more breeds) I breed them for Dressage and Show Jumping, as much colour as possible, Rn+ RnRn T+ TT RnT (RnT and chestnut like this guy are my favorite)

And I would suggest sticking with whichever ones you can't live without as Fablehaft said, or that bring you a lot of pride and happiness. But DWB breeders for dressage are always needed ;)

Soooo I'd definitely start up a show jumping chinco line. Just saying.

Quarter horse wise, I like your goals. I breed for western and colors other than bay and chestnut so I don't have many restrictions. Keep the quarters!

Trakes - Dressage, for pretty colors and patterns.
Friesians - Driving and Dressage, for star facial marking.
Morgans - Driving, pretty colors

Just start SJ Chincos as well.
I can live without Chincos since it is a new addition.
I can't give up Friesians and Morgans because I've been working on them fro awhile.

Ok thank you guys.

I have thought about it and cant live without my Paints or Quarters and as for Gypsy there is such a lack of creme in the game so I m gonna push through with them. But my Tbs I have never really connected with so they are out. For those of you that have mentioned DWB they were one of the first horses I had on this game so I might just have to start a foundation line of them.
But I also love Trakes so might have a small trake and DWB dressage or jumping line? IDK yet.

Sorry to hi-jack your thread but

@Alicia - I have GENUINELY no idea why I didn't split my DWBS into Dressage as well as SJ because my Trakes are in both disciplines! I have 4 remnant of pre recode EV Dressage DWBS from an original herd of 12 who live in their own little bubble with ever decreasing breeding options as the offspring of the 2 pairs head towards breeding with each other! I MIGHT think about starting a Foundation DWB Dressage line up again when I get some more space when a few of my Retirees pass into EV heaven :D
