*Auto-care to diminish on use

Currently, auto-care runs down based on account progression. While I imagine this is easier on the system overall, I'd love to see auto-care days diminish based on actual use instead of account progression.

I'm facing a very busy time in my life between work, grad school, and baby incoming. I don't have time to log in and care for all my horses in the way that I'd prefer (hand-showing), but I'd be thrilled to lock most of my horses up and focus on a few specific critters during this time. But I hate the thought of wasting my auto-care days on five or ten horses that I can easily manage by hand when I've got 100 other stock locked up, too. It's a lot more valuable to run-down my auto-care days when I've got everyone unlocked.

I'd like to propose that auto-care days get utilized when you actually click auto-care on any single division rather than by simply progressing your account. This would allow players the option to remain active without "wasting" their investment during busier times; they could show/riding school a limited number of horses, collect interest, etc.

Flip-side of this coin is that auto-care costs EVC, and EVC brings in money for the game. So I can see where some may want to avoid this, too.

I can understand the benefit of having auto-care go down via use, since I also know what it's like to get busy and want to cut down how many horses I'm actively playing with! Feeling like you're "wasting" auto-care days on a small number of active horses is a bummer.
I'm torn on whether I'd prefer it in general, as I do think that it's one of the more popular EVC add-ons, and I wouldn't want to impact revenue. (Plus I feel like the auto- tools are priced pretty reasonably, so "wasting" a little time is a pretty small per-day cost. It's pricier if you buy it per-month instead of 6 or 12 months at a time, but then if you know you're going to be busy and have few horses, you can skip purchasing more time for a while. Though I realize there are instances where you may have purchased a lot of time in advance and then run into time constraints.)

But per your suggestion, do you mean having the auto-care number decrease as soon as you use it (but only decreasing once per day), or do you mean having the auto-care number decrease with every division you use it on? Because I would vehemently NOT support the latter: auto-caring just my currently active horses would cost me 15 uses a day, because I have so many divisions!

A maybe unsolicited suggestion for the time-being: If you're going to have fairly few active horses, but don't want to run down auto-care or auto-show days, you could move your "current" horses over to a spare account, if you have one. Then you can play with them on your spare without running down days on your main. (Though that's also not feasible for everyone, I realize.)

Sorry that wasn't clear--I mean diminish once per day based on use, not per division. Instead, I was just trying to say that once you use it, on any singular division (even if you have 15 active), that runs down your use. So whether you use that one division or all 15, you're still going to be out the day.

God yes! I brought auto-show because I was too busy to hand-pick shows but ends up only use a week worth of auto-show instead of whole month. It is such a waste... Now, I am hesitant to buy it again because I am worried that it would happen again. If it is based on per use, I would spend more EVC on those items.

maybe be able to 'Pause' auto care? then when you unpause it, no days have been wasted, but while it's paused it can't be used :)

Just like you said, it's a EVC thing and the people owning/develop/design/change/running the game,
need to be paid too for all the changes and work happening with the idea's from us members.
I don't mind that it roles over counting down the days but, I get what you are saying.
