Looking for breeding friends

#174921 Posted on 2018-06-14 03:56:44

So I have finally decided on the four breeds that I want to stick to breeding - GV, TB, Paints & Quarters.

I would love to have some breeding friends as I am always look for good broods and studs to add to my own lines. But first I think I should tell you about what I breed for and my breeding requirements.
I also have overall requirements that all my horses follow no matter the breed -

Monday - 10 hours Riding school work
Tuesday - 10 show entries
Wednesday - 5 hours riding school work, 5 show entries
Thursday - 10 hours riding school work
Friday - 10 show entries
Saturday - 5 hours riding school work, 5 show entries
Sunday - Day off

GV - Driving

I plan to keep my herd small and have a mix of foundation and lined horses. This will probably stay as my smallest herd of horses and I will probably have lots of them for sale at various times.

Requirements/Rules:

Will eventually only have horses that have the Cr or CrCr gene
I tend to only breed my GV's once they are over the age of 8 years old
I only breed to other GVs that are trained for driving
Focusing on stats before conformation

TB - Racing/Show Jumping (I haven't decided yet, so feel free to help me decide)

Again they will be a small herd but will take up a bit more room than my GVs.

Requirements/Rules:

Focus on Conformation and Stats
Mostly Lined horses maybe a bit of foundation but probably not a lot
Will try to stay clear of horses with white patterns - so no overo etc
Horses wont be bred until they are over the age of 8 years old
Will breed to other disciplined horses

Paints - Western

This will be and is my largest herd out of all 4.

Requirements/Rules:

Horses are a mixture of lined and foundation but mostly foundation
Focusing on conformation first then stats afterwards
Breeding for any colour and coat pattern
Won't breed to other disciplines
If a horse has a good pedigree and its parents have proven themselves I will breed them when they are younger

Quarters - Western

My second biggest herd of horses

Requirements/Rules:

Only horses that are ZZ or Zz
Only lined horses
Focusing on stats before conformation
I don't breed them very often, I mostly just show them

So that is an introduction to all my horses. :)
