The Massive Horse Dump

#174204 Posted on 2018-06-10 21:30:56

Does anyone remember that massive horse dump that happened either last year or two years ago? I remember being on my computer at lunch, just buying horse after horse and spending over 100k on amazing horses. Why can't that happen now???

There's A LOT of cheap horses... I brought 121 horses today XD the price was $10-$5000 each. Brought few horses with 2k stats for $5000.
It depends on how picky are you with pedigrees..

It also depends on how picky you are about conformation.  I cannot afford to be too particular about pedigrees, because high confo horses are rare in most of my breeds.  I own or bred half or more of the 80+ confo Gypsy Vanners on the game, so when I find a stud or a new one to outbreed, I snatch it.  I count myself fortunate if I can find one in the right specialty with good stats, or one in the wrong specialty that has good stats when converted.  My main focus when checking pedigrees is not buying more than a couple animals sired by a stallion that has a ridiculous number of foals, as that defeats the purpose of outbreeding.  Sometimes I have to lower my standards tremendously to bring in a new color, and then I get pickier about stats, because darn it, if it has no confo, it better have stats!!!

As for inbreeding, I just rely on the inbreeding block in the game.  I'll try to breed two animals, be like, oops, that didn't work, and just try a different pairing.  :)

@ Silver Foxie, there are a lot of horses with good conformation up for sale as well. I have several in their 80's to 90's.
