Stat Gain

#172705 Posted on 2018-06-03 09:42:55

Good morning everyone!

I was just looking at some foundation horses wnd comparing them to mine, and I was wondering how their stats are so high? I’ve been doing all the training, treating, etc. so I figured it must be the showing.

How do you guys show/riding school your horses for the best possible stat gain?

I show all of my horses when they’re within a certain range of leveling up. For local and novice horses, I show them within about 20 stats of leveling. For my R horses, I’ve been testing what’s the best range for them to be shown in, I find that around 30-40 stats within leveling is usually good (their training levels haven’t been high though, so that makes competing with level 5 training R level foundies a bit difficult). When they aren’t shown, they go into the riding school. I treat them all every day. I find that stat gain is still a bit variable though. Usually I found that my foundation horses ended their life with anywhere from 700-900 stats, typically.

i follow many of the same principles as Clover Note Stables.

i buy foundations as 0 year olds, and feed them haycubes (or peppermints if i am especially fond of them) every day. at age 3 i set them in a discipline that i do NOT plan to keep them in, and do training and enter them in riding school every day. at age 5, i convert them to their true discipline, equip them with grade 5 tack, and start showing them.

i hand select all the shows for each horse, aiming for as as close to 5 entries as possible and running as soon as possible. they win most often when they are towards the top of their grade, like CNS mentioned, but they are frequently still competitive even at low levels.

I'm currently tracking the weekly stat gain of two foundations right now, both of which have been raised using that method. both were fed peppermints until age 5.

Honeysuckle Heart is doing somewhat better than Maori Shadow is, but both have just turned eleven and are already at 600+ stats so I'd say they're doing pretty well :P

i will say that the hand selection of shows required to get this stat gain is rather time consuming, which is why i have so few of my horses unlocked at the current time. I haven't tracked any stat gain carefully until those above two horses, but my foundations that i buy as foals do usually end up being around 1000 stats at death.

I also find certain disciplines dont gain stats as quick for foundations. Trouble areas are Western & Dressage. But then I dont do anything other than auto show my horses usually. However the past week its just been the riding school as I havent had the time to show them.

I usually cube foals and convert at 3 or 5 years old for most of my foundations and show them all on random (used to pick randomly before random was added) at all times and always ended up with 800-1000 stat foundations. Don't use any particular method personally other than schooling if I'm short on time/shows and making sure there's enough shows for my horses to be spread out in (at least 10 shows per 3 horses).
