Breeding questions.

#170415 Posted on 2018-05-13 23:46:12

I recently decided to devote breeding to TWH and morgans.
I love the colors morgans have, but are patterns possible?
The TWH have amazing color combinations and patterns.
Will DNA tweaks, like sooty, pangor, silver, and flaxen work on these breeds?
Sorry for the random questions, but i’m very interested in increasing their amazing color range, as well as improving their conformation and stats.
I raise morgans for dressage, driving, and western. I raise TWH for dressage, endurance, and racing.
Should i breed for all 3 points, or is it better to go for just 1 of them?

I’d be very grateful for some tips.

Look at your wardrobe in your inventory, that will show what is available to all breeds.

Thank you very much.

If you decide to do multiple specialty's for those breeds, it would probably be a good idea to have separate divisions for them :) like western Morgans would be separated from the driving Morgans. ^_^

Thank you very much @Courtney. Most of them have their own divisions. However, i don’t have enough divisionss for my racing TWH, so they are unassigned and can’t be shown or trained.

I would suggest putting all your driving horses into one division, western horses into another, etc. that will allow you to have all your horses in divisions and will allow you to train and show them much faster. I also have my horses organized by stats, but age would probably work better for you since it will group all the young horses together that need special training and group the older horses together so you know who is nearing retirement and therefore will need to be bred soon.

Since you have 5 divisions available, I'd organize them like this:
Driving (organized by stats)
Dressage (organized by stats)
Endurance (organized by stats)
Western (organized by stats)
- breeding and foaling barn (where you'd put all your horses that you are ready to breed and all the young foals, if you organize this division by age your foals will all be together and your old horses will be together)

Thank you very much @Insomniaglet.
I’ll set the organization right away, but a seporate division for foals will need to wait a bit.
For now, i’ll move my dressage TWH and put them with the dressage morgans.
That will give my racing TWH a division.
