Question about Geldings

So I hardly ever see them for sale on here but then again I hardly ever geld any of my own studs. 

But I was wondering how many of you actually like buying geldings and find them useful to have around? 
As I have a few studs who just aren't cutting it at their current job and I want to geld, but then it may make them harder to sell.

I don't personally buy geldings; I pretty much only geld stallions that aren't selling and toss them in the RC so I can be done with trying to sell. 

They're not good for much, unless you just want to show them or put them in lessons.
I know some new players like to buy ones that are established to gain points to level up.
