*Instant Chat System

Would there be a way to insert an instant chat like system? It could be either across the site (so a giant group chat of everyone online) and /or the option to do a private or small group chats? Kind of an easier/faster way to communicate when 2 people are online rather than waiting for "mail" to go back and forth.

Just an idea can totally be shot down.

We did have a java-based chat before but it was pretty janky and often didn't work for everybody, so a text-based chat would be what would be added if the server will be able to handle the increased load from it. Abbey would have to determine how feasible it would be.

Hmm didn't know there was an off the site style.

I agree it doesn't have to be anything crazy if you did do it. Just something simple basic.
