Both of those have leg markings, which is a pain in terms of recolouring this - a character with solid or only a gradient on the legs would be preferable. Anything involving spots, dots, etc is going to end up looking like the markings are dancing around on the horse, which would be pretty freaky.

Went through all my charries and I believe this is the one with the simplest leg markings

I can handle adding those sparse of spots, that'll be ok.

Can you work from photos refs ? I haven’t had a chance to get a reference made of my real life horse
