I need help with art!

So..... I have tried many different art things, gimp, deviantart, pixlr, etc, etc. I can never seem to figure these out. All I want to do is some simple yet nice art. I have decided to keep trying on deviantart as this one seems to be the easiest to figure out and I've done all of my art on there. The one things that I CANNOT figure out is layers. I figured out how to fill the horse in with layers, but I can't get the background color to change without the whole horse's color changing. What I need is a step by step guide on how to do horse art. XD Thanks for your time. -Lumi

totally look up tutorials on you tube and deviant art to use these programs :3 If I didn't have to put my whole life on hold this week and possibly next week, I'd offer to teach ya some basics. - I teach photoshop as my main job lol-

I could offer some help with the program I use, firealpca. It is a free program and similar to gimp.

I can do a join.me one time if I have some free time next weekend or sometime the week before easter (I am on spring break). I can give you the basics such as layers, coloring linearts, finding a good lineart, and how to use some of the other tools. Feel free to message me and we can set a date if you want or I can write out a tutorial (although I am not used to doing stuff like that but I can always try!).

I used to use gimp but it isn't compatible with my tablet for some reason o.O So I switched to firealpca. Although if you want to stick with gimp rather that firealpca I can use my mouse during the join.me and use gimp (although I haven't used it for about 2 months) :) I also have some experience with Pixlr but I haven't used it in so long, so I can probably touch that a little bit o.O

I could definitely help you out! I've used stuff like MS Paint, Gimp, Firealpaca, SAI, Photoshop, etc. Photoshop was always hard for me, but the others were pretty easy for me to understand. My favorite program to draw in is SAI, but sometimes I draw in MS Paint then transfer it to Gimp to edit or add a transparent background.

I'd be willing to answer any kinda questions you may have & even give you some art tips if you'd like!

Most of the pixel art I do is in Paint, then I just make it transparent in Gimp and sometimes animate. I've put some examples below so maybe you can get an idea of what I'm talking about ??
