Yay! I'm so excited! Yesterday I went to the pet store and purchased a little Betta! His name is Einstein! He is a Juvenile Halfmoon Betta. A Halfmoon is basically just the fin type. I was really surprised that our pet store had Halfmoons because they aren't usually found in pet stores. I've had some Bettas in the past and I actually bred them. Now I'm moved into my new house.

Oh, he's stunning and very cute! I adore bettas, have two of my own (5 gallon and 10 gallon). I share your opinion on tank size, but 5 and above is always preferable. Congrats on the new beautiful boy! I'd like to have a halfmoon someday, mine are veil tails.

Cool! The ones I bred a while back were veil tails. The veil tails at pet stores tend to have ripped up fins, probably from bad breeding. The ones at my pet store were in EXCELLENT condition. They had veil tails and halfmoons. There was a pure white halfmoon with blue eyes that I though about getting, but Einstein caught my eye. XD If I go back and the white one is still there, I will probably buy it. I am eventually going to get a tank divider and split Einstein's tank to get another Betta. Then each will have 5 gallons.

My bettas didn't have ripped fins when I got them, but my one is a chronic fin biter.

lol I'm hoping to get a bottom feeder for Einstein's tank, but if that doesn't work out, I will move the bottom feeder to our 150 gallon tank.

Pictures aren't working for me :c

I've mostly had Halfmoons, and Doubletails over the years. I've also had an Elephant Ear, but he passed away only weeks after getting him due to what is believed to have been a neurological problem.

lol Your pet store has a very large variety! One day I'm going to get an Elephant Ear! I absolutely love Bettas with lots of finnage. My mom has a female Halfmoon betta. She doesn't have a name, but I call her Azteca. One day I might breed Azteca and Einstein, but they are too young right now.

pics arent working for me either :c

the other day in one of our pet stores i was sooooo close to getting another betta - this one was a gooooorgeous black and white crowntail. in the past ive had/petsitted veytails (veiltails, but veytails (pronounced like va vacation, or way with a v) is an inside joke between some friends and i - a petstore once mispelt veiltail and i couldnt stop laughing) halfmoons, elephant ears, kings, and a huge selection of females. currently in a tank im setting up for a friend, i have a few albino corys, a school of tetras, and am planning on adding a betta, but atm am still deciding which other fish i want to add.

Cool! I'm going to get a Corydoras and put it in Einstein's tank. I'm going to name him Baldwin. I would name it Cory, but that's my dad's name XD

For pictures, you'll need to upload them to an image hosting site and get the URL of the image. c:
