i bought a marking randomizer to try and make a homozygous clydesdale into either a heterozygous sabino or a solid. I got the error message that

Not sure if it's related, but a couple weeks ago I used two marking randomizers on two completely different Vanners, both of whom were tobiano-sabino... both randomizers said they changed the horses to... tobiano-sabino. I'd been under the impression that randomizers did not give you the same thing you already had, but figured perhaps I'd been wrong and just had really bad luck. Either way, I didn't want to spend the credits to keep trying/testing.

It did not give me an error like you got (the "no white markings for the breed" one) but it WAS a case of a randomizer not randomizing, so just in case it's some part of a similar problem...

I believe you can't remove the sabino because the randomizer randomizes only the type of marking, not its dominance. Since there is nothing else to randomize to for a Clydesdale, it stayed the same.

As for marking randomizers, that sounds like it was simply bad luck. I don't think there's a guarantee that the randomness will not give you the same marking.

Not at this time, no. A sabino tweak could happen though - I believe the possibility has been mentioned before.
