Pegasus World Cup Picks

The worlds richest horse race is being run today, carrying a 16 million dollar purse at Gulfstream Park in Florida. Arrogate dominated last year before winning the Dubai World Cup and becoming the richest racehorse ever.

Anyways, I've got a handful of favorites this year, primarily: Gun Runner, Stellar Wind, Gunnevera, Toast of New York, and West Coast. Truthfully I think Gun Runner is going to have earn this one because he is breaking from post 10 and for one turn races at Gulfsteam it's pretty much a guaranteed lose. I do like Sharp Azteca but I don't think he will be able to get the distance.

Any thoughts?

Gun Runner is my fave US horse (or was?!) though I don't really follow US racing.

As stated in the commentary; Gun Runner makes his own luck.

Personally thought he'd always win it being the best in the field and indeed he broke well from the cursed stall 10 although he didn't look the happiest of horses in the final 16th. Not liking the surface?? Feeling the effects from his earlier effort after the break?? Who knows.

I'm just glad he's safe & going to make baby GRs.
