how do you prefer to add new blood?

I know my preferences, but I’m curious what others think! 

When it comes to adding new blood to your herd, do you prefer to breed to an outside stud or mare, buy a horse from another player, or use both a stud and a brood to breed yourself the perfect foal from another player(s)? or something else entirely? 

i like to pair my foals up from birth, so my preference is almost always to buy a foal or to request one be bred. if i breed to an outside horse, it’s usually to sell the foal. 

I usually buy foundations, because I find it hard to find a horse that has a clean pedigree. However, if I could, I would add new lines as often as I can. My problem is that I breed for color a lot and I want to make sure the horse I'm going to breed it to has the same valuable alleles as the horse I've got - which makes it hard if it has a lot of different valuable alleles :(

I buy foundies, or sometimes a horse with a short, clean pedigree.

I'm currently breeding foundation pairs and carefully pairing them up with my lined  babies. 😊

I usually just add foundations from the rescue center or equine center so this way I am in control of their lines.

My full mustang line is 128 (!) foundation so I won't have to worry about needing new blood until generation 8 which will be in about 2 years time.

My GVs will need new blood sooner but I don't know yet how I'll do it. I'd be happy to add in lined horses if I can find any that are clean and same generation matched. 

My "I'm bored" lines are going to be foal x foundation all the way down.

when i want new blood i'll buy foundations or lined horses but for my project welshies i just added more foundations because originally i wanted to end this line pretty quick but i decided to lengthen it for another two generations c:
