ok so what would be better?

i have a line of foundations that I'm treating for dressage but in looking for 3rd and higher gens I'm only finding horses that are bred for driving so what would you do? convert all my foundies to driving or any horse i bring in, convert them to dressage. or any other ideas. I'm breeding for color if that makes a difference.

it’s almost always easier to train in the most common breed discipline, so if a lot of the quality (in your case: colorful!) outside lines you’re planning on bringing in are of a different discipline, you might run into issues with not being able to easily find outside lines to incorporate.

you could keep your herd in dressage, but you won’t be able to convert those 3rd gens from driving to dressage without having a lot of non-specialty stats (since they’ll have high driving base stats that can’t be converted).

i think the easier thing to do would be convert your line to driving (assuming that’s the most common discipline in their breed) but i know it can also be a fun challenge to have an uncommon discipline. i think really the decision comes down to your personal preference :)
