White horses

#135970 Posted on 2017-12-22 10:37:17

Is there a way to remove white from foundation horses? I kind of want to see what is underneath!

You can use a marking randomiser or marking applicator to change it to a different white pattern, but there is currently no way to remove all white patterns completely (AFAIK...).

White is a "pattern." Using a Marking Randomiser will give you a different random pattern, ergo reveling their color and removing the White. Also doing a genetic test allows you to see the color of the horse underneath the white, although it doesn't change their color. But it costs $1,000 evd versus an item that costs 1 EVC.

Example:

This stallion is "white" but his color underneath is a Sable Cream Champagne, identifiable by having reveled his genetics.    :)

Hope that helps!

I have a hard time deciphering the genetics, if anyone knows off top of their head or can figure it out easily would they be willing to tell me what these two mean?

Both of those are bay with sabino markings underneath the white.

If I am correct, both of those horses would be bay. Here is a guide that will help you out a lot https://www.equiverse.com/topic.php?id=4766
link

EE is your black colors
ee is your chestnut or red colors
because your horse has both black and red dominate colors you get a bay (black with red undertones)

gg means the horse will not gray out with age
Gg and GG would mean they would gray out

dd means the horses have no dun
Dd means the horse will show dun because the big D is dominant
DD means it will always produce a dun because it has two dominant genes

crcr means the horse has no cream dilution
CRcr and CRCR means it will show it (same as dun look above)

FF means it does not have flaxen and you need two small ff to get flaxen because flaxen is not a dominate gene ( it will only show up on red based horses aka horses with ee genes, like palomino, sorrel,)

zz is silver and you only need one big Z or dominate gene to show up but it only shows up on black based horses (not red based horses)

pp is pangare and only some breeds can show this (qh and paints do not so I dont know a lot about it)

stysty is sooty and qh and paints dont show this as well but the same idea can be applied to it if the breed allows it on equiverse

rbrb is rabicano (its the white color under the belly) if it is RBrb it will show up on the horse. RBRB will always produce a horse with rabicano

NOW, we get into the white part of the horse. this is the pattern it is born with your horse has WSB

WSB is a white sabino anything with a W in it means it will show up white. Wt white tobiano and wrn white roan

oo is overo and both of your horses has no dominate overo (another white paint pattern)
lplp is leopard spotting on appaloosa and other breeds that can have spots
and the patn1patn1 are the patterns for those spots. Hope this helps a little!if you have any questions you can always message me

Thank you for the help all. I understand a bit more now but it is all still very confusing. I don't think I could ever just look at one and know what it all means!
