need help

Hi, I need help with shading in a black horse. I lose all of mt lines and can not seem to get that nice silver sheen on it. Any suggestions?

Best think for shading a black horse, is to not paint the horse black.  Use a very very dark gray, leaning blue or purple.  I don't have an example of my own (I'll try to make one up really quick after I post this) but something like this would assure that your lines would be visible:

THANK YOU!!!! you helped so much. I could not get it to keep from looking purple haha This is what I made, any further suggestions as I am doing another black horse for someone and can tweak it where it might be needed.
